Our model of care involves psychotherapists (LCSW &amp; PhD/PsyD), rendering individual, family, and group therapies, along with diagnostic evaluation and collaborative intervention between the therapy team and the psychiatric team. Our multi-disciplinary team realizes that older adults have special physical, emotional, and social needs. The psychiatrist collaborates with a team of psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants to take a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and treatment. <br><em>For more information, please visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-decoration: underline\">http://www.spchealth.com</span></span></em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\n<p>Senior Psych Care provides fully integrative behavioral health services to long-term care patient at their facility. Physicians are responsible for comprehensive assessment and treatment of persons whose lives are impacted by cognitive conditions, mental health issues (depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, Alzheimer’s, Dementia), or a declining capacity to function independently. Duties include (but aren’t limited to) completing cognitive and mental health evaluations; prescribing psychotropic medications when appropriate; and completing timely and accurate charting.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The Collaborating Physician will be responsible for performing outpatient care, billing, coding, and documenting under the professional standards set forth by the AMA code of medical ethics. Physicians will collaborate with mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician's Assistants). This position requires an individual with a Louisiana medical license and completion of a course of study from an accredited university and/or designated medical program.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide continuity of care to long term care residents in order to recognize existing and potential problems regarding medications, activities, therapies, testing, treatment referral, or routine care.</li>\n<li>Diagnostic and treatment plans are to be entered into our electronic medical record, available for audits, staff, and collaborative review</li>\n<li>Prescribe medication, treatment, or other recommendations to residents suffering from a broad range of mental health problems</li>\n<li>Provide mental health screenings and cognitive analysis to maximize intervention</li>\n<li>Comply with protocols set by collaborating physician and company standards</li>\n<li>Consult with nursing home staff to help minimize the resident’s behavioral issues or other psychological problems.</li>\n<li>Participation in Behavioral Rounds-a structured synthesis between psychiatric and psychological teams, discussing the overall treatment goals for a specific patient.
