    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Bonus</strong>: Up to $15,000 (if applicable)</li>\n <li><strong>Department</strong>: Electrophysiology (EP) Lab</li>\n <li><strong>Schedule</strong>: Full time (5x8s and 4x10s available), Day shift</li>\n <li><strong>Work Location</strong>: UAB St Vincent's Birmingham</li>\n <li><strong>Benefits for eligible positions only include</strong>: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham provides expert cardiac care in an outpatient setting utilizing cutting-edge technology with three fully equipped cath labs and two non-invasive labs. We offer a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including procedures like heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), as well as advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR/iFR). As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll work in an environment where your expertise can make a lasting impact</p>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>To set up sterile fields, prep patients for cases and operate mapping equipment during cases. To operate multiple pieces of equipment that are utilized. To troubleshoot equipment issues.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Admits and orients patient to electrophysiology lab according to pre-procedural checklist. Accurately enters patient information to database, hemodynamic and x-ray systems. Explains testing procedure to patient and/or significant others including exam to be performed, type of contrast media used, length of exam and equipment necessary to perform exam.</li>\n <li>Maintains all the equipment and accessories needed for cases and completes the room inventory.</li>\n <li>Sets up rooms for cases and performs as scrub assistant.</li>\n <li>Operates and maintaining electrophysiology lab equipment, including cardiac mapping systems and intracardiac echocardiography machines.</li>\n <li>Maintains supplies entering charges for supplies used during cases.</li>\n <li>Assisting physicians during electrophysiology procedures, including catheter placements,electrophysiology studies, and device implantations . Communicates information to physician about patients and/or cases. Collects and analyzes cardiac rhythm strips and other diagnostic data.</li>\n <li>Observes all occupational and radiation safety regulations. Wears appropriate protective aprons, goggles and gloves.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates a responsible attitude toward continued professional growth. Maintains all required certifications/licensures; completes all mandatory education requirements. Stays abreast of changes in technology.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.</li>\n <li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within six (6) months from date of hire into classification.</li>\n <li>Currently registered as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and/or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT).</li>\n <li>Two years' experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or electrophysiology lab may substitute for licensure/certification/registration requirement.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Minimum Requirements: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent.  One year of experience preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No Additional Preferences</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
