    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Retina Consultants of Texas (RCTX) is seeking a Patient Liaison to join our innovative team with the mission of Fighting Blindness For The World To See. This position will be responsible for assisting patients with questions regarding testing, completing medication refills, assisting with scheduling, and completing documentation requested by patients or their employers. This role requires exceptional customer service, active listening and proper triaging and scheduling of all calls. This position will be based out of the Katy Clinic and will travel to Pasadena, Northwest, and Brenham. Mileage compensation is provided. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Candidates must be able to meet the needs of the patients and providers, and support the Clinic hours of Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. Schedules are provided weekly and are based on the provider's clinic, patient and surgery schedules. Clinic staff are provided with the opportunity for weekend hours if available.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Retina Consultants of Texas is the largest and most respected retina-only ophthalmology practice in the United States. Tests include MRI’s, blood work, call FA’s, etc.</li>\n <li>Send/refill prescriptions; written, faxed, or electronic ERX.</li>\n <li>Schedule outgoing referrals and send chart information as needed. </li>\n <li>Request medical records from other physician offices and scan into EHR. </li>\n <li>Assist with clinic as needed as an ophthalmic technician. </li>\n <li>Complete patient paperwork (worker’s compensation, FMLA, etc.) and document work in EHR system. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated effectiveness showing courtesy, diligence, integrity, and teamwork </li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills; effective listening, clear communication, effective patient problem resolution, warm demeanor</li>\n <li>Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, coworkers, and patients </li>\n <li>Ability to master multiple computer systems (data entry and data retrieval) </li>\n <li>Ability to master the terminology of the medical field </li>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred </li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease processes/symptoms, usual tests</li>\n <li>Knowledge of billing and coding for tests and diagnoses</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent </li>\n <li>Medical Assistant certification preferred </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>Experience Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred</li>\n <li>1-2 years of experience in front or back office experience preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong><strong>PHYSICAL Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.</li>\n</ul>",
