    "description": "<h2>Role Summary</h2>\n<p>Urban Outfitters is looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner who can creatively lead and manage the planning team to maximize sales and profit by developing sound merchandise plans that support the company’s goals for sales, turn, and margin.</p>\n<h2>Role Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Working closely with various departments to ensure that corporate initiatives and strategies are accurately reflected in the plan and forecast of sales, inventory, and receipts</li>\n <li>Clearly communicating, developing, and providing reporting and analysis to highlight important trends and/or support key initiatives</li>\n <li>Taking trend and merchant direction and interpreting it into a profitable strategy</li>\n <li>Challenging the status quo </li>\n <li>Managing, coaching, and developing planning team</li>\n <li>Motivating/pushing the planning team to maximizing opportunities </li>\n <li>Managing the OTB and inventory for area of responsibility; ability to break down the business and find profit driving opportunities</li>\n <li>Supporting and developing the division through information systems </li>\n <li>Aiding in the budgeting process</li>\n <li>Clearly recognize the difference between retail and direct sales trends and opportunities and understanding how to maximize both businesses</li>\n <li>Demonstrate a clear understanding of how to master managing inventory between channels</li>\n <li>Understanding and being able to quantify the financial impact of any significant new, growing, and declining categories</li>\n <li>Aiding  buying team in planning future buys based on history and current item/category selling</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Role Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Customer Obsessed</li>\n <li>Strong financial and analytical skills</li>\n <li>Results oriented</li>\n <li>Creative problem solver/ “outside the box” thinker</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills</li>\n <li>Works well in teams</li>\n <li>Superior excel skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>The Perks</h2>\n<p>URBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
