Department/Division/Program: Keys to Early Intervention to Homelessness Service (KEIHS)
Reports to: Coordinator, KEIHS
Location: Caboolture
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (until 30 June 2027)
Employment Status: Full-Time (76h 00m per fortnight)
Award: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award
Classification Level: 4 ($44.81 to $48.22 per hour)
At Kyabra, our Sunshine Coast teams provide support to a range of community members towards achieving their personal aspirations/goals and development using a strength-based approach. Service work primarily focuses on working alongside community members who are at-risk of homelessness and/or domestic and family violence while supporting them in navigating the systems and circumstances that significantly impact their lives such as child protection, living on a low income, healthcare (mental and physical), education and legal services etc.
Our Keys to Early Intervention to Homelessness Service (KEIHS) is one of our housing support programs whereby we provide case management support to families, young people and individuals who are at risk of homelessness.
Through casework support and advocacy, the Case Worker, KEIHS , will ensure that the most appropriate and effective early intervention services are provided to people who are at risk of homelessness within the communities where KEIHS is co-located with host agencies.
The position involves both centre-based and outreach functions involving coordinated work with a range of agency, community and staff resources.
While this position is being advertised as a fixed-term contract, there may be the potential for this role to become permanent in future for the right candidate.
Hours of Work
Applicants must have the capacity to work full-time hours (76h 00m per fortnight). Part-time candidates will not be considered.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications & Training
Tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree or higher) in human services and/or another relevant field.
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working in, case management in the community service sector, including the use of client management systems (e.g. QHIP), as well as experience in the following areas: needs assessment, domestic and family violence, housing/homelessness, disability, mental health, individual/family support.
Demonstrated understanding of issues/barriers facing community members, including ways to resolve or improve these issues and empower community members, particularly as it relates to tenancy sustainment, housing instability or being at risk of homelessness.
Demonstrated understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and other relevant human services legislation, particularly as it relates to providing housing support services to community members.
Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of social justice, as well as a demonstrated capacity to work in ways that focus on people’s strengths.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, including an ability to work autonomously or as part of a team, and adapt to various circumstances as necessary to support the organisation and/or community members.
History Checks & Clearances
The successful applicant will be required to apply for certain mandatory Personal and Criminal History Checks. This position is required to hold a satisfactory/positive result for the following:
Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
A valid open driver’s license (Queensland).
Note, it is an offence for a disqualified person to sign off on a Blue Card application form.

Existing professional networks and/or the ability to rapidly build relevant industry connections.
