PTAD is split into four areas, allowing the Division to offer technical assistance and implement statutory requirements in many innovative ways. General description The Comptroller’s office is seeking SDPVS Data Analysts in the Property Tax Assistance Division (PTAD). This role performs journey-level consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves examining and auditing Reports of Property Value from local taxing entities; analyzing certified appraisal roll records; verifying data submitted; providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, local taxing units, and local governmental agencies. Work Hours Agency standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend hours. In this role you will: Analyzes and evaluates electronic submissions of appraisal roll records and examines Reports of Property Value for accuracy and completeness. Analyzes and adjusts reports based on supporting documentation, historical information analysis and/or projections. Acts as liaison with county appraisal districts, county tax offices, school districts, and special taxing jurisdictions on matters pertaining to the School District Property Value Study. Analyzes and evaluates school district audit requests to determine whether to adjust values for recertification to the Texas Education Agency. Prepares and sends audit correspondence, maintains logs, spreadsheets, and files. Analyzes and evaluates self-report protests and supporting documentation to determine whether to adjust values for certification to the Texas Education Agency. Prepares recommendations for authorized officials and updates database. Maintains expertise in property tax laws and agency rules and procedures as they relate to Reports of Property Value and their audits. May analyze legislation for impact to program.
