This position supports the YMCA’s mission by ensuring quality care, positive interactions, and adherence to all safety and child protection policies.</p>\n\n<h3>Essential Functions</h3>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing, and age-appropriate manner</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Ensure children are signed in and out according to YMCA procedures</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain constant visual and auditory supervision of all children</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Enforce YMCA Child Watch guidelines, safety rules, and behavior expectations</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Respond appropriately to minor incidents, conflicts, or emergencies</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary Child Watch area</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Communicate professionally with parents and guardians</p>\n\t</li>\n\t<li>\n\t<p>Model YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility</p>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4>Child Abuse Prevention language:</h4>\n\n<h4>Employees and volunteers who directly supervise consumers will:</h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.</li>\n\t<li>Attend required abuse risk management training.</li>\n\t<li>Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.</li>\n\t<li>Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.</li>\n\t<li>Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<h4>Employees and volunteers who do not directly supervise consumers will:</h4>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.</li>\n\t<li>Attend required abuse risk management training.</li>\n\t<li>Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.</li>\n\t<li>Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.</li>\n\t<li>Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.\n\t<ul>\n\t\t<li>Maintenance employees and volunteers—ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.</li>\n\t\t<li>Front desk personnel—ensure consumers are properly signed in and signed out,ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.</li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n</ul>",
