The component technician’s role is vital in ensuring the highest quality of products are delivered to our patients in need.</p>\n<h2><strong>What we offer: </strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Competitive Pay:</strong> $22.9753/hourAll salaries are pursuant to Local 1199 Collective Bargaining Agreement.</li>\n <li><strong>Make a Difference: </strong>Be a crucial part of our mission to save lives and support our community.</li>\n <li><strong>Growth Opportunities:</strong> Gain valuable experience in the healthcare industry and advance in a supportive environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Prepare and Process: </strong>Work with multiple collection bags to produce high-quality blood components, following all SOPs and regulatory guidelines.</li>\n <li><strong>Document and Log: </strong>Accurately prepare and maintain documents and l electronic information related to receiving, processing, and labeling blood products. </li>\n <li><strong>Maintain Equipment: </strong>Ensure that all equipment is well-maintained and that your work environment is safe and organized.</li>\n <li><strong>Manage Storage: </strong>Oversee the storage of various blood products, ensuring proper conditions, in a temperature-controlled environment.</li>\n <li><strong>Label blood products acceptable for transfusion by following SOPs and using our Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS)  </strong></li>\n <li><strong>Package and Ship: </strong>Handle the shipping and packaging of products for research and discard, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h2><strong>What you'll need:</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma/GED (some college science courses preferred).</li>\n <li>Attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs.</li>\n <li>Computer skills preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Founded in 1964, <strong>New York Blood Center (NYBC)</strong> has served the tri-state area for more than 60 years, delivering 500,000 lifesaving blood products annually to 150+ hospitals, EMS and healthcare partners.
