THE OPPORTUNITY The Reimagining Intimacy through Social Engagement (RISE) Project responds to the intersection of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and gun violence and supports healthy relationship norms and the prevention of intimate partner violence at the community level. The RISE Project draws on public health, community organizing and transformative justice models to create a holistic approach to violence. RISE seeks a Training Coordinator to lead the development, organization, and implementation of training and education initiatives across Community Initiatives. Reporting to the Program Manager of Community Initiatives, the Training Coordinator will design high-quality training programs, build out curriculum and educational materials, and coordinate internal and external training efforts that strengthen community capacity around IPV, healthy relationships, accountability, and violence prevention. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop, design, and refine training programs, curriculum, and lesson plans aligned with RISE’s frameworks on gender-based violence, community accountability, and transformative justice; Create and update educational materials, toolkits, facilitator guides, and resource packets for diverse audiences (community members, partners, youth, providers, etc.); Ensure all training content is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible across languages and literacy levels; Review existing training materials and recommend improvements or updates based on feedback, research, and program needs; Lead “train-the-trainer” sessions to build internal and partner capacity to deliver RISE-aligned curricula; Lead the facilitation of RISE trainings with co-facilitation support; Co-facilitate RISE program workshops and training sessions as needed (e.g., IPV 101, healthy relationships, community accountability frameworks); Maintain a training calendar and ensure smooth coordination across teams and external partners; Work closely with internal teams to align curriculum and training needs with program goals; Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NYCHA partners, community-based organizations, CMS sites, DYCD, and City agencies to coordinate training delivery and resource sharing; Support the development and execution of community education campaigns relevant to RISE’s mission; Develop evaluation tools (pre/post surveys, feedback forms) to assess training quality and impact; Track training delivery, participation, and outcomes using required databases, and submit timely monthly reports to the Project Director; Analyze feedback to identify gaps, strengths, and opportunities for improvement in training content and systems; Assist with planning and organizing community events that align with RISE’s educational mission; Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, NYCHA leaders, local service providers, and City partners (including ONS and DYCD); Attend community meetings, tenant gatherings, and partner convenings to represent RISE and strengthen collaboration; Document outreach, training, and engagement activities in required databases within 24–48 hours, and submit monthly reports to the Project Manager; and Support other RISE initiatives and cross-team projects as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., social work, public health, community organizing, social work) with 2–3 years of experience in training development, curriculum design, facilitation, or related work, or equivalent lived/professional experience; Strong background in community organizing, public education, gender-based violence prevention or violence prevention initiatives; Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and/or transformative justice frameworks; Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning materials; Ability to thrive in fast-paced, interdisciplinary settings and adapt to evolving priorities; Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred; and Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required; ability to travel across NYC’s five boroughs. Position Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 6:00pm. Position Location:  Brooklyn, NY with occasional travel to the Bronx project site. Compensation:  The compensation range for this position is $58,000 - $75,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits: The Center for Justice Innovation offers an excellent benefits package including comprehensive healthcare with a national network, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts including commuter FSA. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%. The RISE Project draws on public health, community organizing and transformative justice models to create a holistic approach to violence.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">RISE seeks a Training Coordinator to lead the development, organization, and implementation of training and education initiatives across Community Initiatives. Reporting to the Program Manager of Community Initiatives, the Training Coordinator will design high-quality training programs, build out curriculum and educational materials, and coordinate internal and external training efforts that strengthen community capacity around IPV, healthy relationships, accountability, and violence prevention. </span></p><hr><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></span><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Develop, design, and refine training programs, curriculum, and lesson plans aligned with RISE’s frameworks on gender-based violence, community accountability, and transformative justice;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Create and update educational materials, toolkits, facilitator guides, and resource packets for diverse audiences (community members, partners, youth, providers, etc.);</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Ensure all training content is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible across languages and literacy levels;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Review existing training materials and recommend improvements or updates based on feedback, research, and program needs;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Lead “train-the-trainer” sessions to build internal and partner capacity to deliver RISE-aligned curricula;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Lead the facilitation of RISE trainings with co-facilitation support;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Co-facilitate RISE program workshops and training sessions as needed (e.g., IPV 101, healthy relationships, community accountability frameworks);</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Maintain a training calendar and ensure smooth coordination across teams and external partners;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Work closely with internal teams to align curriculum and training needs with program goals;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NYCHA partners, community-based organizations, CMS sites, DYCD, and City agencies to coordinate training delivery and resource sharing;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Support the development and execution of community education campaigns relevant to RISE’s mission;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Develop evaluation tools (pre/post surveys, feedback forms) to assess training quality and impact;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Track training delivery, participation, and outcomes using required databases, and submit timely monthly reports to the Project Director;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Analyze feedback to identify gaps, strengths, and opportunities for improvement in training content and systems;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Assist with planning and organizing community events that align with RISE’s educational mission;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Build and maintain strong relationships with community-based organizations, NYCHA leaders, local service providers, and City partners (including ONS and DYCD);</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Attend community meetings, tenant gatherings, and partner convenings to represent RISE and strengthen collaboration;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Document outreach, training, and engagement activities in required databases within 24–48 hours, and submit monthly reports to the Project Manager; and</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Support other RISE initiatives and cross-team projects as needed.</span></li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Qualifications: </strong></span></p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., social work, public health, community organizing, social work) with 2–3 years of experience in training development, curriculum design, facilitation, or related work, or equivalent lived/professional experience;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Strong background in community organizing, public education, gender-based violence prevention or violence prevention initiatives;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, culturally responsive pedagogy, and/or transformative justice frameworks;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible learning materials;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Ability to thrive in fast-paced, interdisciplinary settings and adapt to evolving priorities;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred; and</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required; ability to travel across NYC’s five boroughs.</span></li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Position Type: </strong>Full-time, Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 6:00pm.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Position Location: </strong>Brooklyn, NY with occasional travel to the Bronx project site.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Compensation:</strong> The compensation range for this position is $58,000 - $75,000 and is commensurate with experience. </span></p><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><strong>Benefits:</strong> The Center for Justice Innovation offers an excellent benefits package including comprehensive healthcare with a national network, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts including commuter FSA.
