This position is also responsible for cutting and fitting pipe or structural materials to weld.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p><em>(This is a representative list of the duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.)</em></p><ul><li>Read and understand blue prints and ISOs&nbsp;</li><li>Examine blueprints and plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, weld shrinkage, machining and metal thickness</li><li>Use certified procedures to weld pipe or structural materials as required</li><li>Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions</li><li>Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors</li><li>Inspect, examine and test installed systems and pipe lines using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, observation or other methods</li><li>Make every weld as if it was to be a 100% weld free from undercut over welding</li><li>Clean all welds free from B.B.&rsquo;s and slags</li><li>Create weld tickets daily</li><li>Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars and hammers</li><li>Mark reference points onto floor or face block and transpose them to workpiece using measuring devices, squares, chalk and soapstone</li><li>Straighten warped or bent parts using sledge, hand torch, straightening press or bulldozer</li><li>Remove high spots and cuts bevels using hand files, portable grinders and cutting torch</li><li>Tack weld fitted parts together</li><li>Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, bolt straps or bolt parts in position for welding</li><li>Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment according to specifications&nbsp;</li><li>Put all information on the pipe before cutting and transfer all item numbers onto cut sheet and carry over item numbers to drop pipe</li><li>Check measurements to assure they match with drawings and obtain approval from quality control department</li><li>Obey and follow all safety rules and policies</li><li>Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)</li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent education</li><li>1+ year of welding/fitting experience in an Industrial setting</li><li>Must be certified on PES welding procedures</li><li>Basic written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to perform basic level mathematical skills</li><li>Must be reliable and have good time management skills</li><li>For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen</li><li>For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
