NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards; annually assesses seasonal and long‐term reliability; monitors the bulk power system through system awareness; and educates, trains, and certifies industry personnel. NERC&rsquo;s area of responsibility spans the continental United States, Canada, and the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico. NERC is the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) for North America, subject to oversight by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and provincial authorities in Canada. Our mission is to assure the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the grid.</p><h1 style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Your Impact</span></h1><p style=\"margin-left:9.75pt;\">The Member Engagement Specialist will be critical to advancing one of NERC&rsquo;s core focus areas - engagement. The specialist will support implementation of plans to achieve engagement priorities and track engagement efforts across NERC. Furthermore, the specialist will provide stakeholder engagement and communications support to certain NERC departments and committees. The specialist will also play a role in supporting strategic planning efforts within NERC. The specialist will report to the Director, NERC Membership Engagement.</p><h1><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Your Role</span></h1><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Engage directly with external stakeholders (e.g., electric industry representatives and trade organizations), such as through email, meetings, and conferences.</li><li>Support member engagement strategy, including onboarding NERC members, updating and maintaining the integrity of membership data, keeping website and other key communication resources current, gathering and managing feedback, etc.</li><li>Support engagement with NERC&rsquo;s Member Representatives Committee.</li><li>Track and analyze NERC&rsquo;s member engagement efforts and provide regular status updates to NERC leadership on key metrics.</li><li>Support the development and maintenance of a stakeholder CRM database.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop educational collateral (e.g., one-pagers, slide decks, memorandum) for stakeholders.</li><li>Develop external messaging, talking points, and presentations to support NERC leadership.</li><li>Act as an external affairs liaison to certain NERC departments and standing committees to ensure alignment and coordination around stakeholder engagement and communications.</li><li>Provide support on key initiatives underway at NERC.</li><li>Support the development and implementation of NERC&rsquo;s strategic planning process.&nbsp;</li><li>Stay abreast of industry developments that might have an impact on NERC.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Qualifications</span></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>The successful candidate will have at a minimum:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.</li><li>Minimum of 5-years work experience, including prior experience working in or with the electric industry.</li><li>Experience with stakeholder engagement and/or strategic planning.</li><li>Proven ability to deepen relationships and encourage stakeholder participation.</li><li>Exceptional communications skills across formats, including verbal presentations and written deliverables.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously, with multiple stakeholders and different timelines.&nbsp;</li><li>Extremely organized and detailed-oriented.</li></ul><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Passionate, mission-driven leader who is comfortable leading large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Ability and desire to work collaboratively, across teams and parts of the organization.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>Preferred candidates will also have:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.</li><li>Familiarity with electric reliability topics.</li><li>Familiarity with NERC.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:5.05pt;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:5.05pt;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Other</span></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 35.8px;\"><li>A background check will be conducted prior to employment.</li><li>In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.</li><li>This position has been classified as exempt.</li><li>The position may be based remotely but must be able to travel to NERC offices or meeting locations if needed.
