Those who succeed at Highmark will do so because they enjoy an empowered, challenging, fulfilling, and financially rewarding workplace!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why we need you: </strong></p>\n<p>The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting with organizing, directing and managing the overall maintenance and preservation of the Community with 450 units or more.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What Highmark can do for YOU:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Help you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and regular career progression sessions</li>\n <li>Competitive pay for the market</li>\n <li>Monthly bonus opportunities for all site associates</li>\n <li>30% associate rent discount</li>\n <li>Medical, Dental & Vision benefits the 1st of the month following 30 days of full-time employment</li>\n <li>Company-provided life insurance, short term and long term disability coverage</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending accounts</li>\n <li>401(k) eligibility after 90 days, with 4% Highmark match</li>\n <li>Professional Certification & Tuition reimbursement</li>\n <li>Vacation, Sick and Personal Time off available to use after 90 days</li>\n <li>10 paid holidays</li>\n <li>Paid parental leave</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>This is what you will do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists the Service Manager in all maintenance related tasks:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Supervising maintenance staff and ensure all areas of the community are maintained.</li>\n   <li>Supervises proper levels of inventory, as needed with approval</li>\n   <li>Assist with contractors and become knowledgeable of competitive pricing of supplies</li>\n   <li>Implementing, and supervising training program for the use of safety equipment in keeping with SDS</li>\n   <li>Tracking, monitoring and following up on resident work orders in Yardi to ensure requests are completed within 24 hours</li>\n   <li>Apartment inspections and walk through check list on all vacant units</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Must be able to lead and mentor the maintenance staff by assisting with skill development and knowledge</li>\n <li>Assist by leading the maintenance staff by example</li>\n <li>Responds to emergency calls thru the on-call monitoring service per policy</li>\n <li>Makes general appliance repairs, carpet repairs, A/C repairs and electrical repairs</li>\n <li>Performs carpentry work, welding, painting and plumbing duties as required</li>\n <li>Moves appliances, with assistance, using appliance Dolly</li>\n <li>Installs appliance and electrical fixtures as required</li>\n <li>Reports any maintenance problems and ensure repairs are correctly completed in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Lead and/or participates in an ongoing community preventive maintenance program</li>\n <li>Adheres to and complies with company safety policies and rules and OSHA safety standards that are applicable for the safe performance of the jobs</li>\n <li>Participate in training program for the use of safety equipment in keeping with SDS</li>\n <li>Assists Team in achieving positive Satisfacts reports by providing professional and courteous customer service.</li>\n <li>Assists with resident functions as required</li>\n <li>Maintains courteous and helpful demeanor with resident, prospective residents, co-workers, vendors, etc.</li>\n <li>Works on-call, overtime, weekends, holiday and evening work as required</li>\n <li>Must have mode of communication in which to be contacted at home and to respond in cases of emergency</li>\n <li>May be transferred or assigned to work at another Highmark Community</li>\n <li>Complies with all policies as outlined in the Operations Manual</li>\n <li>Adheres to company key procedures</li>\n <li>Maintains a clean and orderly shop</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned by Service Manager (Community Director and/or Assistant Community Director in Service Manager’s absence)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We’re looking for you if: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interested in the above</li>\n <li>You have leadership and team-building skills</li>\n <li>Experience in apartment maintenance</li>\n <li>You strive for excellence</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Some things we can’t live without are: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in make-ready and on-site apartment maintenance</li>\n <li>Must have average written and oral communication skills in English</li>\n <li>Bilingual in Spanish a plus</li>\n <li>Must be able to direct, motivate, train and develop subordinates</li>\n <li>General knowledge of building codes and laws applicable to the community  (i.e. Freon recover, electrical, plumbing, swimming pools)</li>\n <li>High school diploma</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation</li>\n <li>Leadership skills</li>\n <li>A/C Certification II</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#SFLM</p>\n<p>Req ID: 2026-9437</p>",
