Our Company vigorously pursues opportunities to recruit and develop job candidates who have the desire and potential for becoming qualified employees through our Affirmative Action Plan.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>M&J is seeking Resident Engineers to serve as the Consultant’s senior on-site representative and primary liaison with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>· Serve as the Consultant’s senior on-site representative and primary liaison with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), contractors, utility companies, and other stakeholders.</p>\n<p>· Provide overall management and administration of Construction Management and Inspection (CMI) services for highway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects.</p>\n<p>· Direct and supervise all project staff including Assistant Resident Engineers, Office Engineers, Senior Inspectors, Inspectors, and specialized inspection personnel.</p>\n<p>· Ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, environmental permits, and MDOT SHA standards.</p>\n<p>· Conduct progress meetings, coordination meetings, and partnering meetings with MDOT SHA and contractors.</p>\n<p>· Review contractor schedules, submittals, shop drawings, and Requests for Information (RFIs).</p>\n<p>· Review and approve Daily Work Reports (DWRs), inspection reports, and quantity documentation.</p>\n<p>· Oversee preparation of progress payment estimates, change orders, contract modifications, and force account documentation.</p>\n<p>· Coordinate resolution of field issues including design conflicts, construction sequencing issues, and contractor claims.</p>\n<p>· Ensure compliance with safety requirements, environmental regulations, and maintenance of traffic operations.</p>\n<p>· Ensure proper project documentation and records management in MDOT SHA electronic document management systems.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field.</p>\n<p>· Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland or ability to obtain reciprocity.</p>\n<p>· Minimum 10–15 years of experience in transportation construction management or construction inspection.</p>\n<p>· Experience managing CEI/CMI teams on highway or bridge construction projects.</p>\n<p>· Thorough knowledge of MDOT SHA construction specifications, standards, and contract administration procedures.</p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>· Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.</p>\n<p>· Prior experience serving as Resident Engineer on MDOT SHA or similar DOT projects.</p>\n<p>· NICET Level IV certification.</p>\n<p>· ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification.</p>\n<p>· OSHA 30</p>\n<p>· Work zone safety training and traffic control certification.</p>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>M&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base.
