Apply now!</p><div><strong><link href=\"https://static.workforcenow.adp.com/mas/mdf-components/24.37.25/styles/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"></strong><div class=\"fr-view\"><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><strong>SUMMARY OF POSITION:</strong></strong></p><p><strong>Design Engineer is responsible for design engineering support of new and existing product, including part, tool, fixture, and gage design in a metal stamping, fabricating and assembly environment.</strong></p><p><strong><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></strong></p><p><strong>This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Read and interpret part prints, print changes and specifications</li><li>Design progressive metal stamping and slide forming tools</li><li>Design tools for sheet metal punching, forming and fabricating</li><li>Design gages, staging fixtures and comparator traces to support inspection of production parts</li><li>Design fixtures for welding and assembly</li><li>Specify material based on customer print and specifications</li><li>Establish and maintain design timeline</li><li>Provide customer feedback on print tolerances and product design for manufacturability</li><li>Support Tool Engineering, Production and Manufacturing Engineering during development and pilot run</li><li>Participate in product launch teams within the framework of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)</li><li>Support internal teams with other design assistance as required</li></ul><ul><li>Other duties as assigned or required</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. &nbsp;The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.</p><ul><li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical Design Engineering or related field; a minimum of two (2) years related design experience required and a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing, metal stamping or fabrication experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Proven organization skills required</li><li>Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Familiarity with Logopress3 preferred</li><li>3D CAD proficiency required, SolidWorks preferred</li><li>Familiarity with APQP process preferred</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. &nbsp;The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
