    "description": "<h2>POSITION SUMMARY</h2>\n<p>Pay range: $51.98/hr - $76.92/hr</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Radiologic Technologist - Special Procedures works in the cardio-endovascular catheterization laboratory performing a number of special duties including, but not limited to; operating all of the radiographic fluoroscopic equipment while performing general diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.  Works with and provides assistance to all physicians, radiologic technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and nurses, to maintain a customer friendly environment in the laboratory. Participates and shares with call rotation, while adhering to variable shift scheduling.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p>\n<p>Performed majority of the time:</p>\n<p>·       Performs calculations and measurements using data obtained from heart catheterizations including CO, pressure measurements and valve calculations.</p>\n<p>·       Assists physician by scrubbing during procedures, maneuvering catheters and wires, and injecting contrast into blood vessels.</p>\n<p>·       Routinely participates in daily, weekly, and monthly QI/QC of the “point of care” machines and defibrillators.</p>\n<p>·       Participates in maintaining, restocking and inventorying the department supplies and reports any sub-par levels to the appropriate person.</p>\n<p>·       Maintains and handles sterile equipment under principles of aseptic technique.</p>\n<p>·       Sets up, programs, and runs the IVUS machine, under the direction of a physician.</p>\n<p>·       Assists with the IABP set up and insertion, under the direction of a physician.</p>\n<p>·       Provides basic administrative reports from the database.</p>\n<p>·       Maintains, archives, retrieves, locates, and copies present and prior studies done in the laboratory.</p>\n<p>·       Troubleshoots routine radiologic and computer system problems and reports as necessary.</p>\n<p>·       Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages.</p>\n<p>·       Utilizes feedback from customers to help make decisions regarding services and departmental activity.</p>\n<p>·       Recognizes and reports normals and abnormals in patient physiology and hemodynamic parameters.</p>\n<p>·       Assures a quality product, by reviewing and correcting any documentation related to patient care during a procedure, charge submission and statistical counts.</p>\n<p>·       Looks for ways to role model and improve customer service.</p>\n<p>Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:</p>\n<p>·       Utilizes down time to complete tasks that help maintain and assure departmental operations.</p>\n<p>Decision making and budget responsibilities (e.g. impact limited to the employee, entire unit or organization-wide):</p>\n<p>·       Impact limited to the employee.</p>\n<h2>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Education:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       A copy of your highest science-related academic diploma or transcript.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>·       N/A</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       At least one (1) year experience in digital and cine imaging and archiving.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·        At least one (1) year experience in diagnostic and interventional procedures in a cardiac and/or general catheterization laboratory.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       Oregon State Board of Radiologic Technology. </p>\n<p>·       Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).</p>\n<p>·       American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon hire, and required within 90 days of hire. </p>\n<p>o   If not American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certified upon hire, must have current BLS certification through another provider.  </p>\n<p>·       ACLS required within six (6) months of hire date.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·       N/A</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·       Excellent customer service skills.</p>\n<p>·       Uses effective written and interpersonal communication skills.</p>\n<p>·       Behavior and appearance support a professional image.</p>\n<p>·       Demonstrates skills in caring for the adult and geriatric patient.</p>\n<p>·       Demonstrates computer application skills.</p>\n<p>·       Maintain Technical Systems (Xcelera, XIM, FD-10, FD 20 as examples) and act as first line for troubleshooting.</p>\n<p>·       Willingness to develop understanding of billing and coding procedures for cath lab procedures.</p>\n<p>·       Adhere to the policy and standards of the department.</p>\n<p>·       Required rolls for this position are:</p>\n<p>1. X-Ray Proficiency</p>\n<p>2. Monitoring Proficiency </p>\n<p>3. Scrubbing Proficiency  </p>\n<p>4.
