          "text": "<p>The PLC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of programmable logic controller (PLC) and Siemens Simatic S7 systems and related electrical equipment in both above‑ground and underground environments. This role ensures all work complies with Canadian electrical and safety regulations, conducts inspections and testing to verify system integrity, and follows established environmental and safety procedures.</p><p>Working closely with tunneling and electrical teams, the PLC Technician helps coordinate upcoming work, supports the development of safety plans, and maintains accurate documentation of electrical activities. A strong commitment to safe work practices and technical excellence is essential in ensuring reliable operation of PLC‑controlled systems across the project.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLC systems and related electrical equipment above and below ground.</li><li>Interpret electrical plans, schematics, and work schedules to perform assigned tasks.</li><li>Ensure necessary materials, tools, and test equipment are prepared and available.</li><li>Inspect and test electrical and PLC work to ensure it meets codes, standards, and project specifications.</li><li>Perform authorized work on PLC control systems, ensuring proper procedures are followed.</li><li>Collaborate with troubleshooting in electronic signals to carry on with the tunnel operation, identify faults, lack of signals and report to the engineer in charge about the deepness of the fault.</li><li>Ensure that no unauthorized bypasses or system bridges are created within electronic systems, and only implement such actions with explicit senior management approval.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and regulations while working on electrical and control systems.</li><li>Implement safe work practices including lockout/tagout and hazard control measures.</li><li>Work in accordance with the project’s Environmental Management Plan.</li><li>Ensure all PLC and electrical installations meet current Canadian safety regulations.</li><li>Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.</li><li>Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and promote a proactive safety culture.</li><li>Collaborate with tunneling and electrical teams to coordinate upcoming work and contribute to Work Site Safety Plans (WSSPs).</li><li>Communicate effectively with electrical personnel to ensure understanding of work procedures and hazards.</li><li>Complete daily reports and documentation related to electrical tasks, inspections, maintenance, and testing.</li><li>Maintain and organize all relevant electrical documentation, including diagrams, PLC updates, and maintenance logs.</li></ul>",
