    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Responsible for using expert knowledge to operate and control computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines. Maintain knowledge of G &amp; M codes and input them into CNC machines for production, while ensuring products have precise and accurate measurements.</p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on CNC machines such as, but not limited, vertical or horizontal milling machines in a timely, safe and efficient manner.</li>\n <li>Operate, perform set-up changes and first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Load parts utilizing overhead lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.</li>\n <li>Identify problems before production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust machine controls or control media as required.</li>\n <li>Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.</li>\n <li>Prove out new programs and make simple edits of NC programs on at least one or more numerically controlled machines.</li>\n <li>Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.</li>\n <li>Perform other work related tasks as assigned.</li>\n <li>Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate forklift as needed</li>\n <li>Operate Overhead Cranes</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent combination or education and experience</li>\n <li>Robotic palletizer knowledge and troubleshooting is a plus</li>\n <li>Robotic CNC loading knowledge and troubleshooting is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Verifies proper quality documents and other paperwork is present prior to start of work</li>\n <li>Completes Dimensional reports and machine logs for all items machined</li>\n <li>Operates a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts</li>\n <li>Communicates with supervisor, planners, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel as it relates to the job</li>\n <li>Necessary PPE should be worn at all times as per JHA and task requirement</li>\n <li>Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment</li>\n <li>May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor</li>\n <li>Lifting 40 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively with different people and teams of people by putting others to ease</li>\n <li>Staying on task and following the procedures without deviation</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment</li>\n <li>Team Player</li>\n <li>Communication Skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of editing NC programs</li>\n <li>Knowledge of CNC Machine setup</li>\n <li>Knowledge of parts quality inspection</li>\n <li>Read and understand blueprints</li>\n <li>Knowledge of dimension and tolerance measurements</li>\n <li>Knowledge of measurement instruments</li>\n <li>Basic Computer knowledge</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of various tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and insert used on various machines</li>\n <li>Robotic palletizer and Robotic CNC loading equipment knowledge and troubleshooting</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments.
