This is a salaried, exempt position: $86,000/year Sign On Bonus: $7500 SUMMARY OF POSITION The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) reports to the Clinical Supervisor of the Clinical & Behavioral Services department. The BCBA will provide support to Day and Residential programs by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. The BCBA will also provide ongoing support to Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and managers as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior Support Plan. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop Universal Positive Behavioral Supports (agency wide) for consumers, employees and stakeholders. • Develop and implement positive behavior plans and strategies (PBSP, PBIP). • Develop Psychotropic Medication Treatment Plans for individuals that exhibit problem behaviors associated with a clinical diagnosis and are prescribed psychotropic medication. • Review, analyze and interpret data frequently to ensure treatment is appropriate and/or changes are warranted. • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) using staff interviews (MAS, FAST, open-ended indirect assessment) and direct observation. • Conduct Functional Analysis (FA) when requested and approved by the Vice President of Clinical and Behavioral Services. • Conduct preference assessments and other assessments as needed (ABLLS, VB-MAPP, PEAK, Vineland and QABF) • Conduct Behavioral Skills Training with ABA Tech, DSP staff and supervisors. • Participate in Individual Service Plans and Day Habilitation Support Plans, complete all behavioral documentation requested. • Utilize iCentrix and HCSIS websites to enter documents including, but not limited to behavioral assessments, psychotropic medication treatment plans and positive behavioral support plans. • Participate in Risk Review meetings, providing data relating to risk. • Develop transition plans for new referrals that require behavioral supports. • Participate in the agency’s Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) and Human Rights Committee when requested. • Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, inclusive of the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulation on the use of Positive Behavioral Support. • Provide direct instructional supports including, but not limited to, ABA techs, practicum supervision/teaching, and in-service instruction to other support professionals. • Initiate recommendations for additional clinical, psychological, forensic evaluation, therapy, and other outside assessments as needed. • Develop, implement, and maintain tools necessary for carrying out behavioral intervention plans in a timely manner (i.e. visual schedules, token systems, etc.). • Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between direct support professionals, supervisors, guardians, DDS employees and other stakeholders. • Provide training in behavior plan development, behavior plan management, DDS regulations and Human Rights as needed/requested. • Be knowledgeable in emergency physical restraint and intervention procedures. • Review incident reports, as needed, relating to behavior, identifying trends and possible behavioral needs of the individual. • Data tracking and review of psychiatric medication changes after individuals’ psychiatrist visits. • Assist with completing informational packets for site supervisors to bring to psychiatric appointments including data collected on behaviors, and other pertinent information to be shared with the psychiatrist. • Ensure plan compliance with DDS and Medicaid regulations for Positive Behavioral Supports. • Provide behavioral health services to contracted agencies as directed. • Maintain licensure as a Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Attend outside Agency meetings as requested by the Vice President of Clinical & Behavioral Services. • Present intensive plans to Peer Review Committee and/or the PBS Committee supporting the justification of using subjectively aversive interventions. • Review current research in the field; as relevant implement and disseminate information internally. • Attend trainings to further develop clinical skills/knowledge as needed to remain current. • Be trained in Human Rights. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS • Maintain CPR & AED Certifications • Travel to various residential sites, day program, and contracted agencies. • Effective written and verbal skills. • Strong coordination skills – ability to prioritize case loads. • Ability to effectively utilize a computer. • Ability to collect and analyze data.
