When you join Magnet Designated nursing excellence team, you will experience shared governance, engaged leadership, and skilled team members all in a patient centered care atmosphere.</p><p><strong>How You Will Fulfill Your Potential</strong></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><i><strong>Operational Management:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Manages the clinical and environmental operations of the unit or service line&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Develops, implements, and evaluates systems to support quality and safe patient care</li><li>Develops staff schedules and peak census plans and communicates those to the staffing office</li><li>Review patient surveys and feedback and creates action plans to address patient satisfaction issues</li><li>Makes staffing decisions and adjustments on a shift-by-shift basis in collaboration with the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, and Nursing Director as needed</li><li>Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the annual budget</li><li>Develops and implements action plans in response to variances</li><li>Oversees the pay practices of staff and the systems that support payroll and benefits</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i><strong>Management, Leadership, and Development of Staff:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Demonstrates principles of evidence-based leadership</li><li>Manages all aspects of the staff to include hiring, supervising, counseling, professional development, discipline, and competency/performance evaluation, including clinical evaluations of nursing staff with matrix relationships</li><li>Coordinates the orientation process of new staff in collaboration with the educator/CNS</li><li>Develops staff and facilitates learning opportunities that meet staff and unit/service line needs</li><li>Serve as a clinical resource and acts as a role model and mentor</li><li>Develops the agenda and conduct monthly staff meetings</li><li>Oversees the work of the unit-based council and acts as council advisor</li><li>Ensures clinical staff are part of the Nursing Shared Leadership council structure</li><li>Conducts timely performance evaluations</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><i><strong>Other Management Responsibilities:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Responsible for the coordination of performance improvement initiatives for the unit/service based on data from NDNQI for nurse-sensitive quality indicators and data from Press Ganey for patient satisfaction metrics</li><li>Creates and initiates action plans to address gaps in quality or safe patient care</li><li>Initiates investigations/reviews, and create action plans in response to incidents as well as patient and customer concerns</li><li>Communicate significant information to Key stake holders and Staff in a timely and appropriate manner</li><li>Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and procedures, protocols and standards of care, practice and performance</li><li>Assist in planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs</li><li>Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate policies, procedures, protocols, standards of care, practice, and performance</li><li>Contribute to the efficiency and professional environment of the unit/service line through support of objectives and strategic initiatives, participation in unit/Nursing Services activities, meetings, continued education programs and quality improvements initiatives</li><li>Utilizes the electronic medical record according to established standards.
