This role requires an individual who can translate complex, technical, and often sensitive subject matter into clear, compelling, and compliant visual content. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in design principles, experience working within regulated environments, and the ability to execute with precision under tight constraints. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to visual storytelling, branding and design efforts within the defense industry, not defaulting to the way things have always been done. They will seek to apply innovative thinking to deliver impactful campaigns that support Agile Defense’s business and brand objectives. This role is responsible for executing conceptually strong corporate communications campaigns, visual identities, static and motion design assets, multimedia content and web experiences across internal and external channels, and strategic counsel to the Head of Marketing and Communications, as well as other key stakeholders within the business. Education and Background • 8+ years of experience • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Years of Experience 8 years Required Skills Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy. Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Ability to interpret and visualize complex technical information clearly and accurately. Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance (if required). 8-10 years of marketing experience, preferably in national security, defense, government contracting, or related sectors. Experience leveraging and developing for digital and social media platforms. Demonstrated success developing and executing proactive communications strategies in large, complex organizations or government environments. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. Experience advising senior leaders and operating as a trusted communications counselor. Knowledge of federal contracting, IT services, digital modernization, and government affairs. 8+ years of experience Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Working Conditions Familiarity with UX fundamentals or digital experience best practices. (UX/UI Designer) Prior experience supporting DoW or federal IT modernization programs. Experience working in highly regulated industries (defense, aerospace, government contracting, or similar).
