    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Stewart & Stevenson is Now Hiring a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor at 10750 Telge Road Houston, TX 77095. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor oversees daily mechanical assembly operations, ensuring efficient workflow, quality output, and strict adherence to safety standards. This role leads and coordinates assembly personnel, balances workloads to meet production goals, and drives continuous improvement in assembly methods while maintaining accurate labor tracking and clear communication with production leadership. The supervisor fosters a strong safety culture, supports operational planning, and ensures resources, training, and expectations are aligned to deliver on-time, high-quality results.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Supervise/Oversee the daily operations of the mechanical assembly production team in the area(s) of designated responsibility.</p></li>\n <li><p>Manage the distribution of workload and assignments throughout the designated department to ensure production targets are met. </p></li>\n <li><p>Conduct daily meetings prior to start of workday to set expectations for the day and assign work tasks.</p></li>\n <li><p>Management of assembly personnel time within the ERP system (Oracle) daily to ensure optimum utilization and efficiency within the production assembly team.</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide leadership/guidance to shop leads and assembly personnel to ensure work is being completed in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.</p></li>\n <li><p>Analyze work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required. Provide feedback to planning/scheduling group accordingly to improve efficiency.</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide updates and constant communication to Production Manager about project progress</p></li>\n <li><p>Requisition shop supplies as and when required.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Improve existing or develop new assembly methods, techniques, and procedures.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure proper safety training, regular meetings and resources are provided to personnel to support adherence to health and safety procedures.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintain a strong, personal commitment to the safety culture.</p></li>\n <li><p>All other duties as assigned.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and five to ten years related experience required. Strong knowledge of ASME Standards.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to read and understand blueprints.</li>\n <li>Previous supervision experience of 20+ people</li>\n <li>Experience with engine rebuild/repair, power transmissions, mechanical/hydraulic repair and rebuild, air systems, hydraulic systems, and Oilfield equipment is preferred.</li>\n <li>Shows excellent interpersonal skills through listening, understanding, and responding to the questions and needs of staff.</li>\n <li>Supports the team’s efforts to succeed by motivating staff to achieve production goals and prioritizing and planning work activities.</li>\n <li>Contributes to a positive team environment by leading by example through commitment, respect, and communication.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates quality work through accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail of own work and evaluating the work of other staff.</li>\n <li>Exhibits efficiency in problem solving skills and troubleshooting by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met.</li>\n <li>Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills and share expertise with others.</li>\n <li>Commitment to a standard of excellence in customer service.</li>\n <li>Shows adaptability by effectively responding to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.</li>\n <li>Exhibits superior dependability by consistently arriving to work on time and as scheduled.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates professionalism by acting with integrity, high moral standards, and personal accountability.</li>\n <li>Shows organizational support by consistently following policy and procedures.</li>\n <li>Must be able to read and write English.</li>\n <li>Ability to understand written and verbal orders</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS & ABILITIES </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Computer Skills </strong></p>\n<p>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook). </p>\n<p>Prior experience with Oracle systems preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS </strong></p>\n<p>Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT </strong></p>\n<p>Mix of both office environment and shop environment.
