Camp activities include swimming, science, Kona Ice, games, and craft projects.  We take exciting field trips to the Zoo, Sporting KC, alpaca farm, Shatto Milk farm tour, bowling, indoor flying and many more fun destinations. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Camp Counselors play an important role in creating a safe and engaging camp environment.  They will actively supervise and participate in activities, ensuring that each camper has a memorable and enriching camp experience. We are a place where you can belong and become. <strong>We are genuine:</strong> we value you and embrace your individuality. <strong>We are hopeful</strong>: we believe in you and your potential to become a catalyst in the world. <strong>We are nurturing</strong>: we support you in your journey to develop your full potential. <strong>We are determined</strong>: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Encourage physical, emotional and spiritual growth and positive character development in all campers.</li>\n <li>Guide groups and individual campers in camp activities, helping them create unforgettable camp experiences.</li>\n <li>Carry out established roles for supervising the campers’s health and enforcing Y safety regulations to ensure a fun and safe environment.</li>\n <li>Maintain positive relationships with campers, families and other associates.</li>\n <li>Develop group activity plans with campers as needed.</li>\n <li>Stay alert and ready to identify and respond to emergency situations quickly and appropriately.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum age of 16 years old.</li>\n <li>Currently enrolled in high school or has a GED or high school diploma.</li>\n <li>Ability to accept supervision and guidance.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead a group in an activity.</li>\n <li>Good character, integrity, and adaptability.</li>\n <li>Enthusiasm, patience and self-control.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum age of 18 years old with one year or more of college/higher education preferred</li>\n <li>Previous summer camp experience.</li>\n <li>CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certification.</li>\n <li>Previous experience working with school age children (may include working as a babysitter, nanny or other childcare program).</li>\n</ul>",
