At New Smyrna Beach Animal Medical Center, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care for pets and the families who love them. Our team believes in practicing medicine with integrity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy!
We are a fast-paced, collaborative clinic where every team member plays an important role in delivering exceptional care. From preventive medicine and diagnostics to urgent care and surgery, our goal is to support the health and well-being of our patients while creating a positive and supportive environment for both clients and staff.
We pride ourselves on fostering a culture built on communication, respect, and professional growth. Our team works closely together to ensure pets receive the best possible care while also supporting one another through busy clinic days.
We are currently looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team on weekends to help support our growing caseload and ensure pets in our community have access to quality care when they need it most.
Our hours of operation are:
Mon & Fri: 7:30 AM - 8 PM
Tues - Thurs: 7:30 AM - 6 PM
Sat & Sun ( ER & Urgent Care) : 9 AM - 6 PM

We are seeking a Certifed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team in New Smyrna Beach. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about animal care and committed to delivering exceptional service in a collaborative healthcare environment. You will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client satisfaction.
Mandatory Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:30 am Perform animal restraint using safe and low-stress techniques while maintaining composure in dynamic situations Conduct triage of incoming patients and assess their medical needs with attention to detail Collect, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiographic and ultrasound positioning and image capture Prepare surgical sites and provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout anesthetic procedures with precision Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical records Provide compassionate nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with varying degrees of stability Communicate treatment plans and medical updates to clients in a clear and empathetic manner Maintain comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care protocols, and hospital operations Support the veterinary team in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous professional development
CVT in the state of Florida, or eligibility to become ceritfied in the state of Florida Minimum 2+ years of professional veterinary technician experience Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts Flexibility to work weekday shifts as needed Demonstrated expertise in safe animal restraint techniques and low-stress handling methods Proficiency in collecting and analyzing various laboratory samples Experience with radiographic positioning and diagnostic imaging procedures Competency in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring Strong client communication and medical record management skills Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations Excellent organizational and time management abilities Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards, including bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and team members Resilience and stress management capabilities in high-pressure situations Unwavering commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous learning Inclusive and empathetic approach to patient and client care
