    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>PUBLIC SAFETY DEPUTY - LATERAL</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is open to applicants who currently hold SFO or LEO Certifications from Utah POST and have a minimum of one year experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>$27.82 - $37.50 Hourly DOE</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Public Safety Bureau is responsible for a wide variety of law enforcement functions across the Salt Lake Valley. Deputies transition between law enforcement and client focused community policing as situations demand. This position is both challenging and rewarding; duties include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>General law enforcement at government campuses</li>\n <li>Arresting, transporting, and booking people into a custodial facility as needed</li>\n <li>Court Security; including bailiff services</li>\n <li>Executive protection for county council, elected officials, judges, and other employees</li>\n <li>Monitoring select county infrastructures to help ensure the safety of Salt Lake County citizens, visitors, and employees</li>\n <li>Conducting comprehensive security assessments of vulnerabilities at county facilities</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office provides a comprehensive benefits package:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Education incentive allowance up to $900/year</li>\n   <li>Flexible medical and dental insurance options</li>\n   <li>100% Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250/year</li>\n   <li>Vacation starting at 8 hours/month</li>\n   <li>Sick leave starting at 8 hours/month</li>\n   <li>11 paid holidays/year</li>\n   <li>$1200 uniform allowance first year and $300 ballistic vest voucher\n    <ul>\n     <li>$900 uniform allowance each year after</li>\n     <li>Participation in the Utah Retirement Systems Plan</li>\n    </ul></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Work locations are at various County Facilities and 3rd District Court</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>https://linktr.ee/slsheriff</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>\"</em><em>I became first generation law enforcement in my family and as soon as I got a taste of what it was, I was hooked. I am also thankful for the chance they took on me.\"</em> - a current Salt Lake County Deputy</p>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications:</p>\n<p>Must be SFO or LEO certified and have a minimum of one year experience</p>\n<p>Must possess a valid Utah Driver's license at time of hire</p>\n<p>Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)</p>\n<p>Must not have any disqualifying criminal history.
