    "description": "<p>Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Composite Technician Lead.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego facility (Otay Mesa) Aircraft Facility and reports to the<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Production Supervisor</span>.<span> </span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This will be for 2nd Shift hours 3pm-12:30am</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary:</span></p>\n<p>The position will be responsible managing the day-to-day production activities across multiple shifts in assigned work centers. Position will lead manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives through collaborative alignment of manufacturing engineering, planning, quality, and sales with a strong emphasis on safety, customer satisfaction, and cost.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Essential Functions</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, train and manage an operation staff.</li>\n<li>Assist in Supervision of production floor activity based on assigned Programs, Process or Projects and work centers which includes schedules and process control.</li>\n<li>Assist in communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring to meet production objectives.</li>\n<li>Assist in assessing personnel needs to determine skillsets required.</li>\n<li>Assist in determining training needs and completing training programs with the team.</li>\n<li>Monitor labor hours and overtime for the team while creating time-efficient operations with the team.</li>\n<li>Monitor, take note, and report as appropriate when employees: arrive to work area, take break, return from break, take lunch, return from lunch and finish working.</li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to work instructions.</li>\n<li>Ensure techs know what they are expected to do the next day and that they have tools, materials, and work instruction to perform said task (not responsible to get them what they need but to report to Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager).</li>\n<li>Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.</li>\n<li>Work with quality assurance on nonconformance issues.</li>\n<li>Meet continuous improvement objectives, plans and schedules.</li>\n<li>Responsible to maintain teamwork environment between all departments.</li>\n<li>Lead by example that Safety is a way of life.</li>\n<li>Reaffirm existing production goals, or establish new goals, and lead the group effort to achieve those goals.</li>\n<li>Ensure operations metrics for Process and Projects are well-known, and track progress toward achieving enterprise objectives and Production Schedules</li>\n<li>Assist in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives for safety, on-time delivery, production efficiency, and scrap reduction.</li>\n<li>Lead assigned Operations staff through teaching, coaching, establishing high standards, and ensuring accountability.</li>\n<li>Monitor workflow to ensure schedules are met and bottlenecks are identified and effectively managed.</li>\n<li>Assist in analyze and implement process flow improvements. Determine and assure optimum personnel staffing.</li>\n<li>Optimize, implement and assure production efficiency and product quality.</li>\n<li>Exhibit and promote an attitude on the plant floor that leads to an engaged and energized workforce.</li>\n<li>Operate at all times in compliance with the Rock West Composites Quality System and Quality Policy.</li>\n<li>Adheres to all AS9100 certification and compliance requirements.</li>\n<li>Comply with Rock West Composites policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Product and Process Development:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily interface with Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager to establish clear lines of communication and provide task status.</li>\n<li>Provides input to engineers including guidance for creation of work instructions, travelers, in support of the production processes.</li>\n<li>Maintain control of production processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<p>Other duties as assigned.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Education and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School diploma/GED is required.</li>\n<li>Composites manufacturing experience a big plus.</li>\n<li>Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and be able to work effectively across all areas of the business.</li>\n<li>Current computer literacy is a must, including full proficiency in the use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook</li>\n<li>Eligible candidate must be U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence.</li>\n<li>3-5 years’ experience in a technical manufacturing field. Welding, fabrication, composite, wood working.</li>\n<li>US.
