Summary: The Barista at Sweetbay Coffee inside of Hotel Effie is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and tea beverages while delivering outstanding customer service. The role requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a barista, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work environment, taking customer orders, preparing drinks, and managing daily inventory. Seasonal position. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, and teas. Provide exceptional guest service by taking orders, answering questions, and making drink recommendations. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee bar, equipment, and work areas. Stock and maintain inventory of coffee supplies and ingredients. Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to process payments accurately. Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring all health standards are met. Work as part of a team to deliver consistent service during peak hours and special events. Assist in opening and closing duties as needed. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of coffee equipment and supplies. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once. Must be able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required. Ability to perform repetitive motions including pouring, steaming, and mixing drinks. Qualifications: Previous barista or coffee shop experience preferred but not required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure. A passion for coffee and a desire to create memorable guest experiences. Must be able to work flexible hours. EOE M/D/F/V
