Description
At LSINC, you won’t be one of hundreds of technicians on a production floor. You’ll be a core member of a high-skill team building custom, one-of-a-kind direct-to-object UV printing systems shipped to customers around the world. Your work is visible, your contributions matter, and no two days look exactly the same. If you’re the kind of person who wants to understand how a system works from end to end — not just the section in front of you — this is the role for you.
Position Summary
LSINC is a Huntsville-based engineering and manufacturing company specializing in custom direct-to-object UV inkjet printing systems, training simulators, and specialty electro-mechanical products for commercial and government clients worldwide. Our PeriOne and PeriQ printers are sophisticated, fully integrated systems combining multi-axis servo motion control, UV print head electronics, pneumatic and vacuum systems, fluid handling, and PC-based control software into machines that ship to customers globally.
The Electrical Manufacturing Technician plays a critical role in bringing these systems to life. This position goes well beyond standard electrical assembly — it includes active participation in the full machine commissioning process and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), working alongside engineers and the Director of Manufacturing to verify, tune, and validate a fully integrated machine before it ships. You will work from detailed electrical schematics, terminal block tables, and work instructions to wire, inspect, troubleshoot, and commission complex electro-mechanical systems, and you will grow into one of the most technically skilled roles in our manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Assembly & Wiring
Assemble electrical and electronic components, subassemblies, and systems from schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal block tables, and engineering drawings
Perform point-to-point wiring, panel wiring, and cable harnessing to IPC and LSINC documented standards
Terminate connectors, route and bundle cables, and dress wire runs in accordance with build documentation
Support prototype builds, first article assemblies, and low-to-mid volume production runs across multiple product lines
Accurately complete route sheets, travelers, build records, and inspection documentation
Commissioning & Systems Integration
Participate in and progressively lead the full machine commissioning process for PeriOne and PeriQ printing systems, including:
Electrical inspection and wiring verification against schematics and terminal block tables
I/O verification and system-level functional checks
Servo drive and motion controller setup and validation (Trio MotionPerfect, Kollmorgen WorkBench, Parker DST)
Sensor alignment, linear actuator setup, and mechanical-electrical integration checks
Pressure calibration using manometers and test equipment
Print head installation, ink system plumbing verification, and leak checks
HMI configuration and PC-based control software setup
Full system functional testing and pre-FAT verification
Support and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers, serving as a technical resource for system demonstration and verification
Document commissioning results, anomalies, deviations, and corrective actions in accordance with LSINC quality procedures
Support machine preparation for shipping and installation, including decommissioning and crating procedures
Troubleshooting & Quality
Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic faults using schematics, wiring diagrams, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
Identify root causes of system anomalies and work with Engineering to document and resolve build and design issues
Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and documented manufacturing processes
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to commissioning efficiency, quality, and documentation
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with LSINC 5S standards
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field preferred
3+ years of experience in electrical or electronic assembly in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation at a system level
Hands-on experience with electrical panel wiring, cable harnessing, and connector termination
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems methodically — trace signals, read schematics, use test equipment, and isolate faults
Experience using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other standard electrical test equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship in a documentation-controlled environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, low-volume/high-mix environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with machine commissioning, system startup, or factory acceptance testing in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with servo drive systems, motion controllers, or PC-based industrial control platforms
Experience with pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, or electro-mechanical fluid handling
Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620)
Experience in regulated or government-contract manufacturing environments
Experience working directly with customers during machine acceptance, demonstration, or installation
Background in inkjet printing systems, specialty manufacturing equipment, or other complex integrated machinery
Soldering experience (hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components)
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and move around a production floor for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
Manual dexterity for precision wiring, connector termination, and assembly work
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to UV light, inks, and cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)
Occasional travel may be required to support machine installation or customer acceptance at client sites
Why Join LSINC?
LSINC is not a company where you clock in, do your section, and go home. We are a tight-knit team of engineers and technicians building machines that don’t exist anywhere else, for customers across commercial, government, and defense markets globally. We are at a stage of growth where the people we bring in now will shape how this company operates for years to come.
