Description

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Full-Time Work Wellbeing Score on Indeed: 83 Nights 10:30pm-7am - Days TBD Upon Hire This is not just a job. It is a front-line role in the lives of children and adolescents who need stability, guidance, and unwavering support. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will be the steady presence in moments of crisis, the model for positive change, and the advocate for growth when it matters most. If you are looking for meaningful work where your presence changes outcomes every single day, this is it. Job Summary Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) provide compassionate, structured, and vigilant care to children and adolescents in treatment. BHTs supervise patients at all times to ensure safety, meet basic needs, and strengthen treatment outcomes. You will guide youth through daily living skills, responsibilities, and structured activities by modeling positive behavior and effective problem-solving. When behaviors escalate, you will act quickly and confidently to de-escalate situations and provide crisis intervention using approved tools and techniques. This role requires professionalism, emotional resilience, sound judgment, and a deep commitment to helping young people build stronger futures. Job Requirements Minimum Age All employees must be at least 20 years of age. Education High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Experience and Skills One to three months of related experience and/or training in a related field Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-stress situations Core Responsibilities Responsibilities may evolve based on staff qualifications and program development. Demonstrate respect toward colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity. Treat youth as individuals, in alignment with their treatment plans. Review client case histories and implement interventions outlined in treatment plans. Collaborate closely with the Treatment Team to provide the highest standard of care. Serve as a professional role model—calm, respectful, and consistent at all times. Provide crisis intervention and behavioral de-escalation using approved methods. Complete accurate and timely documentation, including reports, phone calls, visit summaries, and required forms. Facilitate structured group activities, using poor choices as teachable moments to promote accountability and growth. Teach and reinforce responsible behavior and daily living skills. Create and maintain safe, secure, structured, and nurturing environments. Assist with meal preparation, laundry, and transportation to appointments and visits as directed. Attend meetings, mandated trainings, and shift turnover meetings. Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and training requirements. Our Values in Action Every team member is expected to embody the principles that guide our work: The heart of our work is helping people. Our character is built on authenticity and compassion. Family connection drives our culture. Collaboration fuels our improvement. Urgency and innovation mark our approach. Diverse perspectives are key to our progress. We seek professionals who are strengths-based, solutions-focused, and committed to building upon the resilience of the children and families we serve. Physical Requirements The physical demands listed are representative of those required to successfully perform essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities. Employees are regularly required to: Stand, walk, talk, and hear Use hands to handle, reach, and manipulate objects Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Employees must: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
