POSITION: Senior Land Agents and Land Agents JOB TYPE: Contractor, Limited-Term LOCATION: Wisconsin and Minnesota WHO WE ARE Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc., is a full-service resource solution company, offering a wide range of appraisal, analysis, real estate, right-of-way, environmental, and forestry services to our clients in the Lake States region and beyond. Founded in 1957, Steigerwaldt is a third-generation, family owned and operated company with history and experience spanning more than 60 years. Steigerwaldt employs a staff of over 60 people, with offices in Tomahawk and Hayward, Wisconsin, Marquette, Michigan and a nationwide presence. We are currently seeking representatives for potential long term, high voltage transmission line projects in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Candidates must have prior experience working with 345kV, 500kV or 765kV transmission lines. Interested individuals should have a solid understanding of the principles of high voltage transmission line acquisition along with the ability to successfully convey those to project stakeholders. WHAT YOU WILL DO This position resides in our Energy, Infrastructure, and Real Estate Division and will support right-of-way acquisition, land leasing, permitting, and construction support for high voltage transmission line projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Establishing trust and building the foundation for a long-term positive relationship between the client and landowner. Making independent decisions in working with landowners and project stakeholders throughout the duration of the project. Coordinating meetings with landowners and appropriate project stakeholders on site or at mutually agreeable locations. Explaining project scope, timelines, processes, contracts, financial agreements, and any other pertinent date to the landowner. Providing regular status reports to the project managers on the status of land acquisition and permitting tasks assigned. Preparing all necessary agreement documents and/or permitting forms that may be necessary for the project. Settle crop/property damages post construction PREFERRED SKILLS Minimum 2 years (Right of Way Agent) or 7 years (Sr. Right of Way Agent) in Right-of-Way acquisition with experience in 345 kV, or higher, transmission line easement acquisition projects Ability to work independently in varied and remote settings, both in the field and with clients and other professionals Superior written and oral communication skills. Impeccable attention to detail. Competent with Microsoft Office software. Solid understanding of ArcGIS software and Google Earth. Ability to navigate and locate specific properties in the field. Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines. Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away – over 80 percent. Work outside normal business hours, up to and including six-day work weeks. Current valid driver’s license with personal vehicle suitable for field work (mileage is reimbursed). Currently hold, or able to secure a State of Minnesota Real Estate Salesperson License. Currently hold, or the ability to secure a Minnesota and Wisconsin Notary Public. A team player who is confident, respectful, curious, flexible, and able to work with other professionals in a growing, successful, and respected business. COMPENSATION Compensation commensurate with experience. POSTING DATE May 14, 2025. Follow up calls are dependent on experience and project timelines. Candidates are subject to satisfactory background checks and drug screening, as well as satisfactory in-person interview with clients.
