Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.</p>\n<p>2. Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery.</p>\n<p>3. Surgically treat conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons,bunions, cysts, and abscesses.</p>\n<p>4. Advise patients about treatments and foot care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.</p>\n<p>5. Take responsibility for a number of specialist areas of practice working with a variety client groups (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis/ chronic disease, high risk diabetes, chronic neuropathy, vascular diseases, wound management/tissue viability, biomechanics, nail surgery).</p>\n<p>6. Refer patients to physicians when symptoms indicative of systemic disorders, such as arthritis or diabetes, are observed in feet and legs during exams.</p>\n<p>7. Make and fit prosthetic appliances.</p>\n<p>8. Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affect the feet and ankles.</p>\n<p>9. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise with other staff and disciplines, attend case conferences, and meetings as appropriate.</p>\n<p>10. Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members, hospital staff and specialist services to ensure an integrated service for clients.</p>\n<p>11. Work independently as well as part of a wider healthcare team.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>:</p>\n<p>1. Doctor of Podiatric Medicine preferred.</p>\n<p>2. Preferred experience in trauma cases and rear foot & ankle surgery.</p>\n<p>3. Must have a California license and X-Ray / fluoroscopy license.</p>\n<p>4. Board Qualified/Certified by American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons with 3 years surgical residency / fellowship trained preferred.</p>\n<p>5. Working knowledge of Spanish is helpful.</p>\n<p>6. Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant candidates with a Specialty in Podiatry are encouraged to apply.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OTHER DUTIES</strong>: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>FHCCGLA is committed to providing culturally appropriate services.
