This role serves as an operational and strategic partner to the CAO organization and functions as a steward of accounting excellence, process optimization, and global standardization.</p>\n<p>This leader drives scalable accounting processes, strengthens internal controls, accelerates close timelines, and partners cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely, and decision-useful financial information across the enterprise. The position plays a critical role in advancing Sazerac’s global finance transformation initiatives, including ERP optimization, automation, and continuous improvement of the controllership operating model. <strong>This position does require travel 1 week per month onsite in Louisville, KY.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Accounting & Close Leadership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for assigned global entities, investments and joint ventures.</li>\n <li>Ensure integrity of financial statements through analytical review, reconciliations, and variance analysis.</li>\n <li>Oversee intercompany accounting and global project accounting activities.</li>\n <li>Maintain compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Controls & Risk Management</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, implement, and monitor internal controls over financial reporting.</li>\n <li>Identify process risks and proactively remediate control gaps.</li>\n <li>Serve as audit lead for assigned areas with external and internal auditors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Process Optimization & Transformation</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Standardize accounting processes globally and drive automation initiatives.</li>\n <li>Improve close cycle efficiency, reporting quality, and data transparency.</li>\n <li>Partner with IT and finance transformation teams on system enhancements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Global Finance Partnership</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate cross functionally and with regional finance leaders.</li>\n <li>Support complex accounting topics including investments, joint ventures, and intercompany structures.</li>\n <li>Provide accounting guidance for business initiatives, integration of acquisitions and strategic transactions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership & Talent Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage and develop accounting staff through coaching, performance feedback, and development planning.</li>\n <li>Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture aligned with Sazerac leadership principles.</li>\n <li>Champion continuous improvement mindset and accountability across the team.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications/Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance</li>\n <li>CPA</li>\n <li>8+ years progressive accounting experience</li>\n <li>3+ years people leadership</li>\n <li>Strong US GAAP expertise</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience managing close processes and financial reporting</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Global accounting experience</li>\n <li>Experience with ERP and financial systems implementations</li>\n <li>Experience with intercompany, investments, or multi-entity structures</li>\n <li>Public accounting background</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Drives results through process discipline and accountability</li>\n <li>Thinks strategically while executing operationally</li>\n <li>Influences cross-functional stakeholders</li>\n <li>Develops talent and future leaders</li>\n <li>Challenges status quo and improves systems</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-MD1</p>",
