Translating Research in Elder Care (TREC) is a research program in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. TREC is a pan-Canadian and international program of applied research. It functions in an integrated knowledge translation or partnered model. We have long standing relationships with stakeholders, end users, policy makers, and our citizen advisory group. Additional information about the TREC research program is available at the following URL: https//trecresearch.ca/. We are looking for a Research Assistant who is collaborative and highly organized to support ongoing research projects regarding trauma-informed care. The Research Assistant will work under the direction of a project coordinator, and will assist in the various research projects currently underway. The Research Assistant will support data collection, participant interviews, and general research and administrative tasks. Responsibilities Coordinate and support research activities, including scheduling interviews, organizing meetings, and managing project logistics Conduct confidential interviews via Zoom with Health Care Aides across Alberta, in accordance with ethics and trauma-informed research practices Support the coordination and implementation of trauma informed care initiatives, including site visits, stakeholder engagement activities, and co-design sessions in long-term care settings. Conduct research and literature reviews; synthesize relevant literature. Take notes and minutes for meetings; distill discussion and action items. Support communication and coordination with research participants, collaborators, stakeholders, and project partners. Assist in writing (with supervision) of reports and manuscripts. Assist in the preparation of publications, posters, presentations, technical and dissemination reports. Assist with ongoing project administration, including tracking timelines and deliverables, organizing study materials, and maintaining project records Assist in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative evaluation data (focus groups, interviews, surveys). Perform administrative tasks as required (e.g., photocopying, printing). Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Nursing, Health Sciences or Public Health Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and to multi-task while remaining organized Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in long-term care, healthcare, or community-based settings is an asset Experience supporting health research, qualitative or quantitative data collection, or evaluation activities is an asset Experience with conducting interviews, focus groups, or facilitating group discussions is an asset Experience using design and content development tools (e.g. Canva, Venngage, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visually engaging materials and support toolkit production Application Instructions Click "Apply Now" to submit your resume and cover letter as ONE document.
