Join The Care Team as a Volunteer Coordinator and help create meaningful connections that support hospice patients and families during life’s most important moments. We are seeking an organized and compassionate professional to recruit, train, and support hospice volunteers while helping ensure patients and families receive exceptional companionship and support throughout their hospice journey. Schedule & Coverage • Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM • Mishawaka, IN What We Offer • Opportunity to build and lead a meaningful volunteer program • Strong interdisciplinary and leadership support • Mission-driven hospice organization Benefits • Competitive Total Care Benefit Package, compensation, and mileage reimbursement per company policy • 401(k) with employer match • Health Savings Account eligibility with employer contribution up to $1,000 annually • Employee Assistance Program, discounts on gym memberships and wellness programs • Tuition reimbursement • PTO begins accruing upon hire, with team members earning up to 3 weeks annually based on full-time status and tenure, plus seven paid holidays. Key Responsibilities • Recruit, interview, and onboard hospice volunteers • Coordinate volunteer training and education • Match volunteers with appropriate patient and program needs • Maintain volunteer records and service hours • Represent the volunteer program internally and externally Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Human Services, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare, hospice, volunteer management, community outreach, or a related field preferred. Previous hospice experience strongly preferred. Experience recruiting, interviewing, training, coordinating, and recognizing volunteers is highly desirable. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships throughout the community. Comfortable speaking to community groups and representing the organization at outreach and recruitment events. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and able to quickly learn electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Valid driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required for local travel. Must be able to meet all background check, health screening, and other employment requirements in accordance with Medicare Conditions of Participation.
