Northerm operates the largest manufacturing / <br>assembly facility in the Yukon, has approximately 60 employees, and was recognized by the <br>Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce as the Outstanding Workplace of the Year in 2022 and Business <br>of the Year in 2025. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Summary  </span></p>\n<p>As a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Glazier Apprentice</span>, you will learn the skills and techniques of the glazing trade under the <br>guidance of experienced glaziers. This role provides hands-on experience in measuring, cutting, <br>fitting, and installing glass and aluminum products while assisting on a variety of commercial and <br>residential projects. You will develop your skills in a safe, supportive, and practical work environment. <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn on-site trade skills under the guidance of senior glaziers.</li>\n<li>Measure, cut, fit, and install glazing materials in windows, doors, and other products.</li>\n<li>Assist with fabrication and installation of architectural aluminum and glass products.</li>\n<li>Load, unload, and move glass and aluminum materials safely.</li>\n<li>Help maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.</li>\n<li>Follow instructions, drawings, and safety procedures.</li>\n<li>Participate in repair or replacement of damaged glass.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Installation Projects May Include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Storefronts, doors, vents, and hardware</li>\n<li>Curtain wall systems</li>\n<li>Skylights</li>\n<li>Flashings and break shapes</li>\n<li>Sealed units, mirrors, showers</li>\n<li>Specialty glass and aluminum products </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory). <br></li>\n<li>Registered as a Glazier Apprentice or interest in registering as one.</li>\n<li>Successful completion of Grade 10 Math and English is a prerequisite to enroll in the course.</li>\n<li>Prior experience in construction is an asset.</li>\n<li>Willingness to learn and develop skills in the glazing trade.</li>\n<li>Ability to safely handle glass, aluminum, and other materials.</li>\n<li>Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting, carrying, and <br>working at heights.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.</li>\n<li>Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.</li>\n<li>Strong teamwork and communication skills.</li>\n<li>Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>If you are a dedicated and motivated apprentice looking for a challenging and rewarding place to continue growing your career, we look forward to hearing from you.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">As a 100% First Nation-owned business, we strongly encourage submissions from qualified First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">While we thank and appreciate all applicants, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.<em><br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">No phone calls or agencies, please.</span></em></span></p>",
