    "description": "<p>Texel Air is excited to<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">announce that we have an opening for the position of Technical Pilot – B737-800BCF </span>within our Flight Operations Team.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This key role is ideal for an experienced pilot with a strong technical background who is looking to expand their impact beyond the flight deck. The Technical Pilot will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the B737-800BCF fleet, providing technical oversight and supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our aircraft.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities Include:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Providing expert advice on B737NG systems, aircraft performance, and route procedures</li>\n<li>Managing operational manuals (AFM, FCOM, MEL, QRH) and supporting regulatory compliance</li>\n<li>Leading Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) administration and maintenance</li>\n<li>Supporting simulator and ground training with technical content and accuracy</li>\n<li>Contributing to safety investigations, risk assessments, and technical improvement projects</li>\n<li>Representing Flight Ops in cross-functional forums and liaising with Boeing (via MyBoeingFleet)</li>\n<li>Supporting aircraft weight and balance data, including OPT and load form revisions</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Requirements:  Technical skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>NZ CAA or ICAO-compliant ATPL with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.</li>\n<li>Minimum 7,000 hours total time, including at least 2,000 hours on B737 or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Proven technical expertise in B737 operations, systems, and performance.</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of NZ CAA Parts 119 and 121.</li>\n<li>Experience in a technical, fleet, or standards support role.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Essential Requirements:  Interpersonal &amp; Professional Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex operational issues and implement practical, safety-focused solutions.</li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with pilots, engineers, regulators, and leadership.</li>\n<li>High attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation, data review, and regulatory compliance.</li>\n<li>Collaborative team mindset, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally across Safety, Flight Operations, Engineering, and Compliance teams.</li>\n<li>Adaptability and resilience in managing operational demands and evolving regulatory requirements.</li>\n<li>A continuous improvement focus, with the ability to identify procedural enhancements and drive best practice standards across the flight operations department.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desirable:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recent experience on the B737-800BCF</li>\n<li>Familiarity with Boeing platforms (MBF), EFB software (e.g. OPT, Flysmart), and cargo operations</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This role is primarily office-based with some operational flying, simulator involvement, and occasional travel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>It may also include participation in a 24/7 technical support roster and emergency response duties.</p>\n<p>This is a<span> </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">safety-sensitive position</span> under the Drug and Alcohol Management Plan and is subject to testing in accordance with NZ CAA Part 67.</p>",
