    "description": "<h2>The Opportunity</h2>\n<p><strong>We are seeking a CEI Inspector for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) practice in Columbia, SC.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Inspector, you will monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents. The ideal candidate will have industry experience, possess strong communication skills, be a team player, is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work.</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues.</li>\n  <li>Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues.</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work.</li>\n <li>Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work.</li>\n <li>Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests.</li>\n <li>Track/measure completed work quantities for payment.</li>\n <li>Perform survey checks.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>HS Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of construction experience with 2+ years in roadway/bridge inspection OR a Civil Engineering degree.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.</li>\n <li>Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.</li>\n <li>Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames.</li>\n <li>Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions.</li>\n <li>Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks.</li>\n <li>Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em><strong>** Please submit a project list that includes your role on the project as well as the construction value along with your resume.**</strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university</li>\n <li>EIT Certification</li>\n <li>SCDOT Certifications</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 Certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Benefits:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Paid Vacation, Personal Time Off, and Holiday Pay</li>\n <li>401(k) with Company Match</li>\n <li>Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Certification and Licensure Support</li>\n <li>100% Employee Owned Company!</li>\n <li>Career Advancement Opportunities</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Cellphone Stipend</li>\n <li>Company Vehicle</li>\n <li>And much more!</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>If this sounds like the role for you and you're ready to join an amazing team, please apply.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>An Equal Opportunity Employer.
