Role Summary:
This position will develop the skills to assist the Commercial Banking Department’s accuracy of data, effectiveness of controls and maintaining adherence within regulatory compliance.
What You Will Be Doing:
Perform quality assurance on data entry into the core data processing system
Review for quality control of audit general commercial banking functions (HMDA reporting, wires, account openings and flood audits) to identify inconsistencies, missing documentation, or deviations from policy
Assist in performing scheduled quality assurance and control checks in adherence to established departmental standards
Assist in the preparation for all internal reviews, 3 rd party audits and exams
Basic understanding and desire to become certified in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Compile and maintain work papers in conformity with departmental quality standards, guidelines, and provide supporting documentation for each audit.
Control risk and manage duties and tasks in a safe and sound manner. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
Fundamental knowledge or understanding of commercial banking laws, regulations, and internal policies, with an ongoing commitment to staying informed about requirements governing commercial deposit and lending activities
About You:
Possess a critical and/or thoughtful mindset to identify gaps and proactively seek information to assist in project work scoped for the benefit of the department
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Attention to detail with an eye towards curiosity and investigation
Ability to adapt as necessary to a new process or procedure for the benefit of the department
The ability to prioritize tasks with conflicting and competing timelines
Able to work under general supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Highschool diploma or GED required
One (1) to three (3) years of similar or related experience associated with commercial banking preferred
Proficient with standard office equipment, word processing and reporting, and spreadsheets
