    "description": "<p><em><strong>About this position:</strong></em></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Provides on-time transportation services for Emory &amp; Henry employees and students, ensuring transportation system and passenger safety.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Drivers must be able to operate a commercial motor vehicle as defined by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.</li>\r\n\t<li>Drives college-owned equipment such as 56 passenger buses, 28 passenger buses and 15 passenger vans, providing safe and efficient transportation to the Emory &amp; Henry community.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection and maintenance including checking the oil, fuel, brakes, lights, windshield wipers, and water and tire pressures.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provides travel information and other general assistance to the Emory &amp; Henry community and its visitors.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains records of work performed; makes timely reports of accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li>\r\n\t<li>Records maintenance skills.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.</li>\r\n\t<li>Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger bus.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:&nbsp;</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Drivers will be expected to operate vehicles in various weather conditions to include rain, snow, sleet, etc.&nbsp;</p>\r\n",
