Description

Job Overview Summary The Security Service Technician I will be responsible for servicing and inspecting fire alarm systems. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in security and fire technology who are looking to grow their expertise in a dynamic environment. What you’ll be doing (and doing well!): Inspecting fire alarm systems in commercial, industrial, and public buildings Testing alarm panels, smoke detectors, pull stations, strobes, horns, communication devices, and monitoring systems Verifying systems comply with adopted codes such as NFPA 72 and New Hampshire fire regulations Documenting deficiencies, violations, impairments, or failed equipment Preparing inspection reports and maintaining inspection records Coordinating with building owners, contractors, electricians, and fire departments Recommending corrective actions when systems are not compliant Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Make yourself an expert on our portfolio of solutions Represent: Always understand that you are the face of the company to our customers Diversity: Every project and service call are different so you must enjoy variety in your workday Work as One Team: Work closely with Minuteman’s sales, management, and operations teams to best serve our customers Find a way: Turn challenges into opportunities Play To Win. What we Like about you: A Sense of humor, creativity, and positive attitude High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in electronics or a related field is a plus. Experience in fire alarms, electrical systems, or fire prevention Knowledge of NFPA 72 and International Fire Code standards Understanding of low-voltage electrical systems Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams Strong report-writing and communication skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with specific security system brands or technologies is advantageous. Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, PSA) are a plus. Physical Activities/Demands: Able to safely work at heights on ladders and aerial lifts Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and move up to 100 lbs. Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time and complete overhead work for long periods of time. Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards.
