Sumter Utilities is based in Sumter, SC and is a subsidiary of <strong>Quanta Services, Inc.  </strong>Sumter Utilities provides high-quality electrical construction, maintenance and modification services of transmission lines, distribution lines and substations to customers throughout the southern US.  This position reports to the Controller. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Financial Reporting & Analysis: </strong>Assist the Controller in the preparation and submission of monthly financial statements, Quanta supplemental financial reports and variance analysis.</li>\n <li><strong>General Ledger & Close:</strong> Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, and the timely close of books.</li>\n <li><strong>Internal Controls & Compliance:</strong> Establish and maintain internal control procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX and Quanta mandated regulations.</li>\n <li><strong>Audit Management:</strong> Act as a liaison with internal and external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for annual audits.</li>\n <li><strong>Supervision:</strong> Oversee day-to-day operations of Accounting, AP, and Payroll staff, including training and evaluation.</li>\n <li><strong>Budgeting & Forecasting:</strong> Assist in the preparation of monthly financial forecasts and annual business plan. </li>\n <li><strong>Process Improvement:</strong> Analyze current accounting procedures and recommend improvements for efficiency</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manages accounting software and troubleshoots issues with support.</li>\n <li>Cross-train with Controller on key tasks and duties.</li>\n <li>Continually evaluate processes and identify opportunities for improvement.</li>\n <li>Willingly accept assignments or special projects as assigned which may vary as determined by SUI management or Quanta directives.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field</li>\n <li>CPA or CPA track preferred</li>\n <li>Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience </li>\n <li>Strong understanding of GAAP</li>\n <li>Excel proficiency, including pivot and v-look up tables</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li>\n <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>\n</ul>",
