The position plays a critical role in supporting production systems, enabling quarterly releases, and driving continuous improvements through automation and modern engineering practices. This role enables reliable store operations and seamless customer transactions, strengthens integration between POS, payments, and store systems, improves engineering efficiency through automation and tooling, and supports scalable and future-ready retail technology platforms. The engineer will also act as a key liaison with NCR to deliver and enhance POS capabilities.

Own installation, upgrade, and configuration of POS client applications across environments.
Maintain POS lab environments, ensuring alignment with production systems for testing and validation.
Support quarterly releases, including environment setup, hardware readiness, and validation.
Configure and support store hardware devices including registers, scanners, and handhelds.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Verifone pin pads, including SCA software and payment flows.
Act as a primary liaison with NCR, coordinating development, enhancements, and issue resolution.
Lead production support, including triage, root cause analysis, and resolution of POS-related issues.
Develop and maintain automated test coverage using Mabl.
Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency.
Support WSI loyalty systems, including account lookup and PLCC credit application flows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end store system solutions.
Criteria
5+ years of relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. Strong experience with retail POS systems, preferably NCR Advanced Store. Hands-on expertise with store hardware devices and configurations. Experience with Verifone pin pads and SCA software. Proven ability to work with external vendors (NCR). Strong experience in production support and incident management. Experience with test automation (Mabl preferred). Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot). Solid understanding of retail store systems, payments, and loyalty integrations. Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across teams. This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday.

We've seen some big changes since our first brick-and-mortar store opened more than half of a century ago. What hasn't changed is our passion for high-quality products, functional design, outstanding customer service, and enhancing the lives of our customers and the communities where we operate. Today, we're a multi-brand, multi-channel, global enterprise supported by state-of-the-art technology and some of the most talented teams in retailing - and we're always looking for new energy and ideas.</td>\n </tr>\n </tbody>\n</table>",
