Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion public school and adapt instruction to students’ interests and needs. Candidates must also be willing to be involved in the life of the school.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192)\">Status of Position</span></span></p>\n<p>This is a full-time position with Académie Lafayette.  This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192)\">Reporting</span></span></p>\n<p>The Special Education Teacher reports to their campus/building principal.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192)\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for preparing and implementing the Missouri Learning standards for IDEA students in the classroom</li>\n<li>Following the goals and objectives in the IEP for each student by maintaining communication with parents and teachers on the educational progress of students.</li>\n<li>Work with building process coordinator in delivery of services to IDEA students.</li>\n<li>Work with general education teachers in screening, evaluating, and providing inclusion under parameters of IEP.</li>\n<li>Develop accommodations/modifications to meet the unique needs of students in classroom, CWC, or inclusive setting.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties assigned by Director of Special Education.</li>\n<li>Develop annual IEP’s and three reevaluation reports for special education students.</li>\n<li><span>Knowledge of Transition Process/Student Goals</span></li>\n<li>Classroom management</li>\n<li>Communicate with peers and parents</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate grades, documentation of report cards, and attendance records</li>\n<li>Participate in all mandatory training and professional development, as required</li>\n<li>Engage in school-wide activities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192)\">Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s Degree</li>\n<li>Degree in Special Education</li>\n<li>Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate in Special Education or in an individual area</li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines for IDEA and 504 partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures</li>\n<li><span>Proven experience as a teacher</span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills </span>necessary<span> f</span>or working in a multicultural environment</li>\n<li><span>The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines</span></li>\n<li>Ability to integrate technology into the classroom</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192)\">Other Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>B<span>e willing to provide information for background check and finger printing clearance.</span></li>\n</ul>",
