Description
Trinity Catholic High School prepares students for life after high school by teaching them virtue and knowledge as they will need to be contributing members of society based on the Gospel message and Roman Catholic teaching. Trinity Catholic High School located in Ocala, Florida, serves families in the 9th–12th grades.
Trinity Catholic is seeking a qualified full-time Guidance Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. As a professional educator in a Catholic school, the counselor will:
Have an understanding that TC is a Catholic High School and an appreciation and commitment to upholding the Catholic spiritual and intellectual traditions as they are the foundation of all things at the school. A master’s degree in school counseling is required. Hold a valid Professional Certificate from the State of Florida or eligible for State Certification (6-12) in the specific subject area. Applicants who are practicing Catholics preferred. Demonstrated skills and knowledge of education, communication, and people skills. Counsels students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational situations. Provides crisis intervention to students when difficult situations occur at schools. Confers with parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss children's progress, resolve behavioral, academic, and other problems, and to determine priorities for students and their resource needs. Maintains accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations. Prepares students for later educational experiences by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks. Identifies cases of domestic abuse or other family problems and encourages students or parents to seek additional assistance from mental health professionals. Collaborates with teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs and in the preparation of master schedules for curriculum offerings. Presents self-help or information sessions on subjects related to education and career planning. Collaboratively work to ensure that students receive all necessary information to assist them in college planning, application and acceptance. Attends meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops and serves on committees as needed. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Confidentiality is essential. Performs other duties as needed. Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check. Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.
