The primary goal is supporting the overall Eskasoni First Nation community in meeting their health care needs that include Eskasoni Health, Eskasoni School and Kiknu Long Term Care facility. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the physiotherapist will provide direct care to scheduled and unscheduled patients across the lifespan with a variety of health conditions and socioeconomic factors. The physiotherapist evaluates patient outcomes, provides consultation to, and consults with other team members. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">REPORTING RELATIONSHIP</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">This position reports to the Health Services Lead of the Eskasoni Health Centre</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br><span>Provide an inpatient clinic at Eskasoni Health Centre </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provide outpatient service to clients in Eskasoni Health that include Home and Community Care clients</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provide direct service to clients that reside at Eskasoni Kiknu Long Term Care Facility </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Assesses clients with physiotherapy related concerns such as decreased mobility, transfer concerns, range of motion, strength, balance, pain control.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical records, observation, or referral; confers with interdisciplinary staff regarding an overall treatment plan for clients.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Provides treatment services for clients using physiotherapy techniques or modalities, such as hydrocollator, wax bath, TENs, etc.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Evaluates the progress of clients in relation to physiotherapy treatment provided through use of tests and observation; confers with nursing staff and physicians regarding effectiveness of treatment.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Instructs clients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, and prosthetic devices.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Maintains an inventory of physiotherapy equipment and supplies.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Develops and administers physiotherapy programs.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Prepares progress reports, funding requests, and statistical reports relating to physiotherapy treatment program and client needs and maintains treatment records as required.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Trains staff in back care, lifts and transfers and other relevant topics.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Ensures client safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Participates in continuing education to maintain credentials and increase expertise and knowledge. </span></li>\n<li><br><span>Supervises, trains, and evaluates the physiotherapy assistant as necessary including work assignments, disciplinary procedures, and performance evaluation.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px\">NOTE:</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 13px\"> This is a brand-new position at the Eskasoni Health Centre.
