Explore some of our signature Transportation projects here.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong>Our Tampa, Fl office has an immediate opening for an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader, PE or EIT licensure preferred but not required. The successful candidate for this position will be primarily responsible for leading the field inspection and completion of the inspection reports for routine and complex bridges located throughout the Carolinas. Additional duties may include performance of structural design/analysis; the preparation of bridge load rating reports; and the preparation of construction documents, project specifications and quantity/cost estimates.  Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs, including oversight of entry-level staff engineers and attending client meetings.  Field assignments may involve travel within the continental United States. No relocation assistance provided.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Review previous inspection reports and information</li>\n <li>Schedule and coordinate field operations with subcontractors</li>\n <li>Perform field inspection of Complex Structures including bridges and tunnels</li>\n <li>Assign and lead team members in field and office tasks</li>\n <li>Identify critical findings during field inspection</li>\n <li>Document inspection findings including the use of digital photography</li>\n <li>Operate inspection equipment such as bucket trucks, manlift and underbridge inspection vehicles</li>\n <li>Climb ladders, supervise traffic control set-ups and perform other work in support of inspection activities</li>\n <li>Prepare inspection reports, evaluations and recommendations</li>\n <li>Perform engineering calculations, structural analysis, rating calculations and review of plans as required</li>\n <li>Other duties may be assigned as needed</li>\n <li>Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<strong>What you will bring to our firm: </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader Certification.</li>\n <li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-yr accredited college or university.</li>\n <li>10 years of related Bridge Inspection experience.</li>\n <li>Successful completion of NHI required training: Safety Inspection of in-service bridges (NHI 130055).</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)</li>\n <li>Strong technical writing skills</li>\n <li>Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.</li>\n <li>Valid Driver’s License</li>\n <li>Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.</li>\n <li>Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.</li>\n</ul> \n<strong>What we prefer you bring: </strong>\n<ul>\n <li>Registration as an Engineer Intern or licensed Professional Engineer.</li>\n <li>Successful completion of NHI Training: Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NHI 130078). </li>\n <li>Experience with FDOT Wigins and AASHTOWare BrM software</li>\n <li>Experience with engineering design software (AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, etc.)</li>\n <li>Load rating and design experience</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 HR Certification</li>\n <li>Experience working with state (FDOT) and local transportation agencies</li>\n <li>Local candidates</li>\n</ul>\n<strong> </strong>\n<strong>Compensation:</strong>The salary range for this role is $43 to $52 per hour.  \n<strong>Featured Benefits: </strong>• Comprehensive benefits package including wellness programs, parental leave, and pet insurance, in addition to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.• Tax-deferred 401(k) savings plan.• Competitive paid-time-off (PTO) accrual.• Tuition reimbursement for continued education.• Commitment to professional development, access to internal and external training programs, and support of active participation in professional organizations• Incentive compensation for eligible positions.\n<p> </p>\n<h2></h2>\n<p>At GFT, a privately held AEC firm, we innovate where transportation, water, power, and buildings converge.
