We encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our vibrant campus community today!&nbsp;</p>\n<p>At the <b>University of Wyoming</b>, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching workplace.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>JOB TITLE: &nbsp;</b></p>\n<p>Branding Iron Staff Writer, Student Media</p>\n<p><b>JOB PURPOSE: </b> &nbsp;</p>\n<p>Provide news, feature or sports stories to newspaper for publication in print and/or online editions.</p>\n<p>JFNTMP</p>\n<p><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Produce at least three stories per week.</li>\n <li>Pick up assignments from section editor.</li>\n <li>Meet with section editor regularly.</li>\n <li>Create story ideas for consideration of section editor.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.  &nbsp;</li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Full-time student&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Access to personal transportation</li>\n <li>Newspaper experience, including writing news stories. &nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.</li>\n <li>Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  &nbsp;</b></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Knowledge of AP and BI stylebooks</li>\n <li>Knowledge of basic journalistic style and how to write newspaper articles.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: </b></p>\n<p>Complete the online application.&nbsp; The department additionally requests candidates upload the following document(s) for a complete application:&nbsp;</p>\n<ol>\n <li>Cover letter&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Resume or C.V.&nbsp;</li>\n</ol>\n<p><b>WORK LOCATION:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<p><b>On-campus:</b> This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>HIRING STATEMENT/EEO:  &nbsp;</b></p>\n<p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
