Location: Serving Anglophone West School District
The successful candidate will offer professional psychological services in schools and at the District level, focusing on student learning, behavior, assessment, evaluation, and understanding child and adolescent exceptionalities and psychological adjustment. A District-Based School Psychologist plays a crucial role in supporting students and school teams through a variety of services and interventions. Utilizing the Response to Intervention (RTI) model, they help identify the needs of students and guide the implementation of appropriate interventions at the tier 3 level.
Collaboration is key to their role. District-Based School Psychologists work closely with school-based Education Support Services (ESS) Teams and District ESS (Coordinators, Speech-Language Pathologists, Resource Specialists in Assessment and Intervention (RSAI) and Leads) to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. They also liaise with C&Y Team Psychologists and team members to address academic, behavioral, and mental health needs, ensuring a holistic approach to student well-being.
Through ongoing assessment, consultation, and collaboration, District-Based School Psychologists help create a positive and inclusive school climate, helping to foster the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel frequently within the district; this role may require significant travel on a regular basis.

· respond to DESS Requests for services as directed by the Director of ESS and or their designates.
· provide a broad range of professional psychological services in the school system in the application of the science of psychology to the areas of student learning and behavior, understanding of child and adolescent exceptionalities and psychological adjustment.
· consult with teachers, administrators, other school and District personnel, and parents in a collaborative process of defining problems and developing appropriate programs and interventions.
· Conduct and support individual student psychological assessments, in-service education, participation in the development and implementation of preventive and crisis response programs, and program evaluation.
· Other duties as assigned
· Travel within the District is required.

Definition
The School Psychologist II is responsible for the delivery of professional psychological services within a school district or education center. This will involve, in collaboration with district administrators, the responsibility for the planning, organization, and evaluation of psychological services within the district. It may involve the direct clinical and administrative supervision of Psychologists, Residents in Psychology and Psychometrists within the school district and/or education center. In addition to the functions of the School Psychologist I, this classification maintains appropriate professional relationships with various community agencies in order to coordinate professional psychological services within the school system.
Qualifications
A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology with course work and experience to meet the requirements for licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick and considerable (3 to 6 years) related experience in school psychology. Successful completions of course work in child and adolescent development as well as child and adolescent exceptionalities are required. Experience in school psychology is desirable.
Necessary Special Requirements
Licensed membership in the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick.
Salary: In accordance with the New Brunswick Union of Public and Private Employees–Professional Support Group Collective Agreement.
