Description

JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Packer SAFETY DUTIES: Wear proper personal protective equipment such as earplugs, gloves, safety eyeglasses and smock. Use proper lifting techniques. Always keep assigned area clean orderly. Report any accidents, unsafe equipment or area to the line leader or supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PACKER: The Packer position involves standing at the pack-out line to pack all frozen products, ensuring they are properly boxed, weighed, sealed, and labeled. The role requires employees to rotate between tasks such as box making, labeling, and weighing, while inspecting products for defects or rejects. The Packer is responsible for maintaining product quality, ensuring that packaging meets customer specifications, and adhering to food safety standards. Additionally, they support the implementation and improvement of BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards and all relevant quality management procedures, ensuring the production of safe, legal, and authentic products. The role also involves following safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, and working effectively as part of a team to meet production goals and improve overall process efficiency . SPECIFIC DUTIES: Employees will clock in and gather their supplies at the supply room when they arrive at the facility. Employees will sanitize before gloving and after reporting to the work area. Employee will receive instructions from the line leader or supervisor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employee will stand 100% of the time, pulling, pushing, lifting 20 to 40 lbs. Ability to always work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. ENVIRONMENT: Poultry processors work in cold, damp conditions (40 ° to 50 ° degrees) to prevent the meat from spoiling. The work area surface is wet and slippery 100% of the time. Because processors work with knives and sharp machinery, there is a risk of accidental injuries, ranging from minor cuts to finger or limb amputations. EDUCATION: Minimum education required.
