Scope of Position
The Safety Greeter ensures the safety and security of all guests, members, Associates, patrons, and visitors. He/she will strive to provide the highest degree of professional and courteous service and protect and care for the assets of JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa.
Position Requirements
Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment and embody the spirit to serve philosophy
Must be able to multitask while providing excellent customer service.
Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an ever-changing environment.
Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in a high-volume capacity, or luxury hotel/resort atmosphere preferred providing customer service.
Responsibilities
Greet and assist all visitors and conduct bag checks.
Enforce the no outside food & drinks policy.
Provide information and answer general questions about Tidal Cove Park operations.
Assist visitors for the temporary storage of authorized items.
Ensure that all guests and visitors have a smart waiver.
Assist guests and visitors that need to complete a smart waiver.
Maintain count of the amount of park visitors for capacity compliance.
Direct guests and visitors to the Pool Concierge.
Assist with additional tasks as assigned.
Monitor for guest and visitors without wristbands
Ensure that all the gates are secured.
Monitor for guests with outside food.
Monitor and enforce the nonsmoking policy.
Collect any lost and found items and bring them to the Security Dispatch.
Perform any additional duties as required by management.
Education
High school diploma; experience in a large hotel environment preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to engage with guests and visitors.
Strong communication skills, flexibility and responsibility, decision making skills, and leadership skills.
Able to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
Able to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
