    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>To develop, organize, initiate, participate and supervise all aspects of the Recreation Center, both traditional and non-traditional. This includes the Game Room, Computer Lab, Gym and Sports / League activities. Work with the Youth Ministries Coordinator, Staff and Corps Officers to bridge program participants into Corps / Church programs.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Represent The Salvation Army in a manner that brings glory to God.</li>\n <li>Assist in every way requested to carry out the spiritual and total mission of The Salvation Army in terms of community needs, program requirements and our ministry to the people of our community.</li>\n <li>Take a leading role in a variety of athletic and recreational activities that are a part of the total ministry of Cleveland Temple.</li>\n <li>Work with youth from the Corps/Church and Recreation Center with the goal of “blending” the facility together.</li>\n <li>Build relationships within the Recreation Center to encourage children to participate in Corps / Church programs / services.</li>\n <li>Develop plans of action via reports and recommendations as needed for the efficient operation of the Recreation Center.</li>\n <li>Offer input as it relates to meeting the needs of the community.</li>\n <li>Create and develop recreation programs and schedules for the Recreation Department.</li>\n <li>Organize After School programs, basketball, soccer, baseball, football etc. leagues on site or in conjunction with community and school programs.</li>\n <li>Teach children, youth and adults’ basic skills in individual and team activities.</li>\n <li>Responsible for collecting and receipting program fees, per Salvation Army policy and program requirements.</li>\n <li>Ensure that the proper procedures are followed with handling / exchanging of money within our facility.</li>\n <li>Ensure that all volunteers, including referees and coaches, fill out the appropriate paperwork to receive a background check per Salvation Army policy prior to working within our facility.</li>\n <li>Responsible for statistical reporting for all activities and turning them in on a monthly basis.</li>\n <li>Ensure that all requirements pertaining to any grants are adhered to.</li>\n <li>Responsible for proper securing of the building at all times. This includes security checks, both inside and out, regularly while the Community Center is open.</li>\n <li>Assist with monitoring/sending children to Kids Café.</li>\n <li>Monitor activities in the gymnasium, game room, computer lab and elsewhere in the facility.</li>\n <li>Seek to protect all those who utilize our facilities, ensure safter standards/practices (Keep Safe).</li>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining / repair of equipment and inventory with proper approval.</li>\n <li>Responsible for maintenance / cleanliness of gym (gym floor free of dust and debris) , common lobby areas, locker rooms, game room and other areas (equipment/games put away and trash picked up). Report any maintenance needs immediately to the Operations Director.</li>\n <li>Provide support to staff and implement necessary evaluation.</li>\n <li>Attend community events, at the direction of the Corps Officers.</li>\n <li>Assist with the overall Christmas effort including driving for kettles as requested and necessary.</li>\n <li>Assist with any other projects as assigned by the Corps Officers or Operations Director.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Three years experience working with children</li>\n <li>Wide range of knowledge concerning sport activities, grants, reports etc.</li>\n <li>Must be 21 years or older</li>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License and be able to drive for The Salvation Army</li>\n <li>First Aid / CPR certification</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal communication skills and appropriate intervention skills required.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of available resources required.</li>\n <li>Supervisory experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Must be passionate about the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Vision of the Cleveland Temple Corps</li>\n</ul>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability or protected veteran status. \n<strong>The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement</strong>The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church.Its message is based on the Bible.
